CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – Texas Gov. Rick Perry today visited Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he criticized President Obama’s proposal to create a new jobs agency as a solution to economic recovery. He also reiterated his call for the Administration to issue a six-month freeze on new regulations to help free employers to create more jobs for Americans.
“What is this president’s plan to fix the economy? Apparently to create a new jobs agency,” Gov. Perry said. “Mr. President, we have tried two and a half years of government creating jobs, it’s time to let the private sector get to work. Americans need work, not symbolism. We need new jobs, not new agencies. If you want to create jobs, don’t create a new agency, and stop all the unnecessary regulations of the agencies you already control.”

And if you wonder about the power of the vacuum...remember when that loudmouth Donald Trump stepped into the vacuum. All eyes were upon him until Obama threatened him (how...we might never know. But he was threatened I am told!).
Well, the vacuum was never filled (no one of note still screams "the emperor has no clothes"...or BC)...and since nature hates a vacuum, Perry can now step into it.

Perry is saying what we conservatives know and believe. Government and government agencies do not create jobs in the private sector, government must get out of the way and the magic of capitalism will grow jobs and grow our economy.
Obama’s solution is another expensive and useless bureaucracy. He is so out of touch with reality we would be better off if he just stayed on that bus and did sightseeing for the next year.
Perry steps in and instantly gets mad press coverage attacking Obama. No other candidate has been able to score points like this, and he’s only been at it a couple of days.
That’s Governor Perry for you....he just ain’t goin’ take any bs...he’ll not let this commie thugs step on him and his country. They tried to step on Texas...that hasn’t worked out too well for them....they thought they’d win the governors race and Perry stomped all over them.

Like the “Wizard of Id” cartoon... if you are giving me free food, free housing, free car, free tv, ETC ETC why on earth would I need a job....

I'm thinking it might have been a death threat against one of his children. Whatever it was, his bluster completely evaporated and he clammed up. Not a peep since.
Well, since Obama is a street thug and threats are the Chicago way, I'm almost certain Obama will have some member of his cabal deliver a threat.
But I don't think it'll work with Perry. He's a sitting governor after all...and I think it'll just harden Perry's resolve.

Speaking of creating cabinet-level departments, the Energy Department was created in 1977 when the U.S. imported 35 percent of its oil. The department’s purpose was to make the U.S. energy-independent. Since its creation, the department has spent hundreds of billions of dollars and has 109,000 employees and contractors. We now import 65 percent of our oil and no new nuclear power plants have been built in over 30 years.
The Department of Education was created in 1980 for the purpose of improving U.S. education. Since then, overall per pupil K-12 spending has increased (in constant dollars) from approximately $6,000 per year to $12,500 per year. Hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent by the department since 1980, yet scores for 17-year-olds on the National Assessment of Educational Progress — often referred to as “The Nation’s Report Card” — have remained unchanged.
Why should Americans expect a Department of Jobs to improve our jobs picture when the Energy Department didn’t improve our energy independence and the Education Department didn’t improve our test scores?
What will a Department of Jobs do that other agencies don’t already do?
Will the Department of Jobs render the Department of Labor obsolete?
How many non-government jobs do you expect the Department of Jobs to create annually and in what occupations? What will be the average cost of creating each job? What will be the Department’s initial budget?
The New York Times also reports that White House press secretary Jay Carney, commenting on job-creation proposals, said, “If you’re talking about a stunt, I don’t think a stunt is what the American people are looking for.”
How is rearranging bureaucracies, ostensibly to create jobs, not a stunt?
Why isn’t this proposal evidence that you’ve run out of substantive ideas to increase the number of jobs in the U.S.?
