Today, the President announced several important new initiatives to continue strengthening the rural economy and to create jobs in rural areas.
As part of the White House Rural Councils efforts to improve federal government coordination on rural economic development, the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) have been focused on rural small business growth. And for good reason: Half the people who work in America either own or work for a small business, and two out of three new private sector jobs are created by small businesses.
Many of these small businesses are in rural areas and we are making sure that they have the tools they need to grow, create jobs and drive the economy.
Today, the President announced a series of initiatives that leverage existing programs and funding to help small businesses and to meet other critical needs in rural communities. This included:
Committing up to $350 million in SBA growth capital to investors in rural small businesses over the next 5 years Launching a series of events to connect private equity and venture capital investors with rural start ups Creating teams to link federal funding opportunities with private investors interested in making rural investments Making job search information available at 2,800 local USDA offices nationwide Making HHS loans available to help more than 1,300 Critical Access Hospitals recruit additional staff Helping rural hospitals purchase software and hardware to implement health IT

Keep your stupid tools pal. Just get out of our face.
What utter BS!!!
That comes to $1.4 million/yr/state.....perhaps just enough to pay for the increase in administrative costs.
Hey, Zer0...keep yer chump change and leave us the hell alone!!!
They’re transferring Obama staffers to the boonies?
I own a small business. I want no tools from the Government. I haven’t a clue what these tools night even be. Just leave me alone so I can do what I do. The Government always has strings attached when they give you something.
Stick to the urban areas with your soul-deadening top-down government control schemes, you worthless “community organizer” ... you couldn’t organize a sock drawer, and no one ... NO ONE in any rural area needs a damn thing from you or your cancerous government.
Maybe I’m reading too much into this one, but it seems so condescending. “We’re from the government and we need to help those ignorant rural folks create jobs because they’re too stupid to do it left to their own devices.”
Please keep your ‘help’ to yourself, Mr. President. There are way to many strings attached.
God knows that’s right.
As soon as you turn to the SBA for money, you no longer control your business. Instead of focusing on success, you have to show that you are focusing on the things the government cares about, like diversity and employee benefits.
Ya I noticed that removing regulation controls, fee’s and tax’s, don’t ever come into mind when it comes to the dim-bulb.
Truer than most would believe.
The biggest tool of all is driving around in a big black bus. Go. Away. Your “help” is not required.
