Ever since taking college level physics and learning the time travel is impossible and traveling at the speed of light is impossible(infinite mass thing) I lost interest in the cosmos. Even if something ( a space ship) could travel at the speed of light if it ever collided with the smallest speck of dust it would explode. It just ain’t happening. The human species will always remain here, stuck on the third rock from the sun. Forget about it.

I have degrees in Physics and Mathematics and I’m here to tell you that you didn’t learn enough. Time and space can be bent (any gravity well). Worm holes are nearly a mathematical certainty. You don’t have to travel faster than the speed of light to travel light years in short time spans.

I am surprised. You should know that time travel is not impossible. It has been proven. Have you not heard of the time dilation effect? This has been proven as fact in numerous experiments. And it effectively proves that travel into the future is also possible.

I would concede that time travel into the past is impossible. But that's it.

We have a couple of billion years before the Sun becomes a red giant and swallows us. That leaves some time for technology to solve the problems you mention. Watch Through the Wormhole, etc for people looking into these issues now.

Someone said basically the same thing about every other human endeavor. It may not be impossible, just impossible now. I believe we will leave this planet and explore the universe someday. It may take a hundred generations but it will still happen.
