The Senate's top Democrat told a home state newspaper he expects the conservative movement's grasp on the GOP to diminish.
The days of the Tea Party's influence on American politics are numbered, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said this weekend.
The Senate's top Democrat told a home state newspaper that he expects the conservative activist movement's grasp on the GOP to diminish, a bold prediction given the influence that group showed Saturday in Ames, Iowa, where Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), a Tea Party darling, won an influential presidential straw poll.

Yeah hairy just like the Tea Party was not going to influence the 2010 elections. Keep whispering into the Emperors ear “everything is fine”
It’s nice to see Stinky Harry and his commie ‘RATS showing so much concern for the future of the GOP. Sorry Stinky, we ain’t ridin’ in the back of Barry’s bus.
Reid is just spouting the new dem talking points about minimizing the Tea Party...They fear the growing influence that the grass roots of Americans known as “TEA PARTY VOTERS” are having on others. We need to repudiate these Democrats (or more honestly known as thieves and retards) that have held our nation up and stolen our dignity, our freedoms, and attempt to muzzle our votes!
The way Cryboehnor clawed through quicksand to hand the Kenyan another couple trillion $$$ suggests that Dingy sees the death of the GOP the same way as many of tea party people do...
Just like the democrats were going to take back the Wisconsin legislature through recall elections. Just like they were going to Pin the debt problem on us.
I just love the fact that the liberals, the media, the democratic party, shoot ... even the rhinos haven’t got a clue what to do about the TEA Party.
It’s just not supposed to work this way.
We underlings, the masses, need to follow their instructions and plans for our well being ... and definately shouldn’t be resisting them with our own “astro-turf” TEA Party !
Grassroots indeed !
How DARE we resist !
How dare us indeed.
When “they” start explaining how the TEA Party is gone or going away and won’t have any affect on the 2012 elections I just chuckle to myself.
The TEA Party is going to be a TSUNAMI in 2012 !
(and it’s going to crash right down on top of all these yoyos)
The Tea Party might be the last hope for America.
If the Tea Party fades away (it won’t), the establishment from both sides will not fix the nation’s catastrophic problems.
The Tea Party will win.
It has to win.
.
Dingy Harry is living in RAT fantasy land.
I agree with Reid. Republicans only act conservative when they aren’t in power.
The craziest thing is Nevadans will believe him. Obviously Nevadans believe everything he says, since Nevadans keep re-electing this dweeb.
The Tea Party is here to stay. Reid may as well get used to it for the remainder of his term. Since come 2012, he’ll be the Senate minority leader.
I can’t wait. The anticipation is killin me.
I can give you 100% proof that the Tea Party is the future. Because up and coming conservative powerhouses like Palin, Perry, Bachmann and Cain embrace them. Perry strongly embraced the Tea Party in a speech today in Iowa. Politicians don’t like to associate themselves with folks who are on the way out , ergo my proof.
Fading is simply a matter of perspective.
I’m fairly certain that, to most other doomed turds as well, it is me and TEA who will appear to be fading shortly after the Great Flush of 2012.
And the first log down that funny-smelling flume can, without any assumed respect though still with some logic, be called ‘Leader’.
Good ‘ol Harry taken a page straight out of Baghdad Bob’s playbook.
Harry should just hold his breath till the Tea Party goes away.
If the Feds figure out they cant tax the nation into prosperity and tax money should not be wasted on cities or given to politicians who will gamble it away or find new ways to waste it, then Tea Party influence on Republicans will fade.
Harry Reid is engaging in wishful thinking.
The TEA Party is everywhere and will only grow in size and stature as long as the federal, state and local governments in this country continue to stomp on the liberty of the American people.
Reid also said that Obama was light-skinned and had no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.
