With most of the conservative presidential field in Iowa today, Eureka residents were surprised to find Sarah Palin touring the Eureka College

The bus rolled up around 4:30 Saturday afternoon. It was an unannounced stop on the "One Nation" bus tour of America.

Getting off to tour the college campus that Ronald Reagan called home was Sarah Palin, her husband Todd, and her daughter Piper.

With none of the security usually surrounding a major political figure, Palin greeted everyone she saw.

Then it was time for a tour of the Ronald Reagan Museum in the college's Donald B. Cerf center.

The Palins looked at a roomful of Reagan memorabilia ,led by the college's Dr. Brian Sajko. Palin listened to stories of Reagan's college experience, and was visibly moved by a video of president Reagan hearing his college alma mater.

After touring the Reagan Peace Garden, the former governor, accompanied by local congressman Aaron Schock, explained her visit.

She hit his home and his Alma Mater.

Cool.

Apparently her bus was in my town the other night without her on it.

This area is interesting.

This is LincolnReaganland.

It’s actually REALLY neat to read an experience the history.

At age 18, Sarah Palin registered as a Reagan Republican, she never had to explore her Democrat roots.

It's clear to all but the willfully blind that she is loading up her jar of inspiration. It's what her visits to the Founders abodes was all about too. She's in for a helluva fight, and she is so close to ready... Can't wait!

Fellow Freepers,

I think that what you are seeing from Sarah Palin is the lead up to an incredible strategy to walk away with this primary for the Presidency. Let the natural weeding out begin, shrinking the field, shrinking the differences, shrinking the stage to the most serious candidates. It is a brilliant strategy…working around the MSM, as well as her opponents! Nothing Sarah Palin does is a coincidence, remember that!. It is all part of a working plan. With each step, it is even more convincing that she is on the right track for her announcement, as well as putting this country back on the right track as a nation.

It will take a commitment from WE THE PEOPLE to fight our most obvious opponent, Obama, but also those within our own party, the RINO establishment wing.

EAGLES UP SARAH! WE HAVE YOUR BACK Madam President!

I don’t know if she will run.

This area where I live ... it’s a REALLY interesting area of the USA.

It not red nor blue. It’s different and full of people who are .... how shall we say... salt of the earth.

It’s racially mixed and there aren’t “factions”.

It’s the area of Illinois that just went Republican after years of Democrat.

We are the “flyover rubes” that the elite reject... but the sensible people consult.

I guess that is the point of Sarah running. She talks common sense to common people. There are no factions, just Americans. This is what drew me to her, and what every other candidate wishes they had. She is us!

She’s not running yet.

She might not run.

I don’t know that I’d be enamored with her as a politician... but I think it’s cool that she is taking a Reagan tour.

Although some are speculating she'll announce during her Sept. 3rd visit to Iowa I think she's going to stretch things a bit further. I've misplaced the source, but I believe she said in Des Moines she wouldn't be a candidate by the time she was next in Iowa. And she said her next moves were a return home for the Alaska state fair (8/25 to 9/5) and for moose hunting (season varies by area, around Wasilla it runs 8/25 to 9/25 plus an early 8 /10-8/17 bow season.) "And then, we'll come back out on the road, we hope."

She needs to lay in a good supply of staples and comfort food (moose chops on a stick?) She'll have to hunt quickly to bag her moose before she's due back in Iowa, either that or make one more trip back to AK before starting in on vermin hunting, rats and rinos.

With none of the security usually surrounding a major political figure, Palin greeted everyone she saw.

I can't think of another political figure who is so genuinely one of us. Any other potential (or declared) presidential candidate would have an entourage and security surrounding them, not to mention a gaggle of reporters in tow.

And here's Sarah Palin - arguably the most famous woman in America, casually strolling across the campus of Reagan's alma mater with just her family - speaking to everyone she meets.

Mrs. Smith goes to Washington in 2012. I'm all in with that.

I think Perry is the only candidate that is man enough to run as her VP.
