GOP holds onto state Senate
The Associated Press
Republicans held onto control of the Wisconsin Senate on Tuesday, beating back four Democratic challengers in a recall election despite an intense political backlash against GOP support for Gov. Scott Walkers effort to curb public employees union rights.
**SNIP**
Turnout was strong in the morning and steady in the afternoon in communities such as Whitefish Bay, Menomonee Falls and Shorewood, where Sen. Alberta Darling was one of the four Republicans to hold onto her seat. After trailing much of the night, it wasnt until about 2 a.m. that Darling could claim victory for herself and Republicans.
Fueled by millions of dollars from national labor groups, the attempt to remove GOP incumbents served as both a referendum on Walkers conservative revolution and could provide a new gauge of the public mood less than a year after Republicans made sweeping gains in this state and many others.
Two Democratic incumbents face recalls next week, but even if Democrats win those they will still be in the minority.
The races next Tuesday target Sens. Bob Wirch of Pleasant Prairie and Jim Holperin of Conover.

Time to give this idiot the boot.
It is delightful that the dumb and dumber spent $35/million on this debacle.
Get the Flee baggers.
Is there any chance they could lose their seats? Hope for a change! lol
The Tea Party candidate (a lady named Simac) looks like she has a fighting chance to take out one of these guys. Here’s another link about the race: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2762032/posts.
I just don’t understand certain things.
Why do Democrats decry Republican filibusters in the Senate in Washington, as “obstructionism”, or lack of bi-partisanship??????
But then, Democrats in Wisconsin performed a giant filibuster type of action by leaving the state, but that’s okay. It’s NOT obstructionism to leave the state and run away from your legislative duties, if you are a good Democrat, if your reason is to try to block legislation you don’t like. But it is obstructionism of the worst kind if Republicans in the Senate in Washington use filibuster rules to block legislation they don’t like.
It sounds to me like there are different criteria depending on whether one is Republican or Democrat. If one is an evil Republican, one is castigated for using established parliamentary procedures to try to stop legislation. If one is a good Democrat, leaving the state so that there is not a quorum for the legislture to act is okay.
I have trouble understanding what the criteria are for judging these things.
I think all that was wasted on last week's election. What do they have left - five bucks?
It’s simple math folks!!! To take this Democrat to “Hell” (defeat) where they all belong, every one of us good guys & gals needs to vote him out of office next Tuesday. Good voters & citizens of Wisconsin, do the right thing and vote to defeat both Democrat “dirt bags”!!! Save your state, your country & your children from these America hater Democrats. Get on it!!!
Just watch my prediction. If both RATs survive then the KOSsuckers and state run media will be calling it a great success for Obama and a repudiation of the Tea Party.
If the GOP can take one of those state senate seats it will be a thunder clap on the head of Richard Trumka and his union goons. I can see a 2012 stampede coming, it is getting louder and louder. There is going to be much nashing of teeth from the stinking rat party.
