Many threads in the past few days about the push by the homosexual community to not only declare Bert and Ernie as "gay", but to have them get "married" on the show, to make the homosexuals in the audience feel better about themselves.

I am very glad to see that even Sesame Street knows when to draw the line.

This might be one for your ping lists. You pinged earlier in the story, before Sesame Street made their statement, but if you haven't pinged since then... Sesame Street's answer puts a definitive end to the unfortunate and very wrong-minded petition.

The messed up part about this was the fact that I thought Bert and Ernie were orginally brothers, which would be really sick implications to later say that they were homos living together, I am sorry, but my incest meter applies to homosexuality, too, and yes, I am pretty incestophobic, if such a term exists. Also, I would say that people, myself included weren’t in homosexual relationships with our own roommates, while living single, especially in our academic lives. That’s reality, and that’s also how some things should be realistically portrayed.
