Sorry if this was posted before - I did a search and it didn't come up

Rather than starting in 1980, I would say it emerged from WWII throughout the West.

Excellent.

From the article:

being brought up only by mothers, through whose houses pass transitory males... Such children inhabit what is effectively a different world from the rest of society. It’s a world without any boundaries or rules.

Remind us of a certain inhabitant of 1600 PA Ave?

The first step in the solution is to accept and loudly proclaim the fact that “liberal intelligentsia” is the very definition of an oxymoron.

All welfare states are created and fostered by the myth that all citizens of a country are good and will willingly contribute and obey the law if coddled or subsidized enough. The ongoing riots have destroyed that myth. The reality is there will always be a subset of any population who will need the the punitive power of the state to make them somewhat productive citizens. Liberals cannot understand this basic fact, and that is why they create destruction whenever their policies are implemented.

The lower classes here and in Britain don't need handouts...they need discipline. And if they don't want to comply, the full force of the state should come down on them strongly. The rule should be: obey the law or suffer the harsh consequences.

On a lighter note, the song “Anarchy in the UK” (Sex Pistols).

Ukulele version.

Of course there are many lone parents who do a tremendous job.

Really? Or are we just saying this as a magical incantation, so we don't sound "judgmental"? Is "tremendous job" defined as, "The children aren't out looting this week."?

Are there "many lone parents" whose children go on to make permanent marriages in which the next generation is reared with what were once considered the basic values of civilized people? How many?
