And not a “peep” out of the media.
Just imagine if Bush had made that statement when he was POTUS. The MSM would still be talking about it.

Wow. 1986? Has it been that long? Seems like just yesterday.

Actually, she’s probably in therapy after seeing what the country has become.

Wasn't Liberty Island closed to tourists for years after 9/11?
And wasn't the statue still "off limits," even after tourists were allowed back on the island?
More gov't foresight at work.

Is Obama having that minaret installed?
Congratulations! You've just made my Coffee Spewing/Keyboard Destroying Post of the Week.
To: combat_boots
Obama has directed them to remove the torch and convert it to a black power fist.

Don’t know, but the start date might suggest it is.
I posted this because it came from the BBC. Made me angry.

I think that following the money trail would tell us a lot about what’s going on here. What House committee would have oversight, anyone know?

LOL...sad thing is, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Most recently, the statue was closed for security reasons from 9/11 2001 until July of 2004 when the base, pedestal, and observation deck were reopened to the public. On July 4, 2009 visitors were again allowed to climbed to the crown. Taking that amount of time into effect, one year doesn’t seem too long.
