(Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday he inherited much of the country's problems with high debt and deficits when he entered the White House, sounding a theme likely to dominate his 2012 re-election campaign.

Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser, Obama also defended his economic record and noted that problems in Europe were affecting the United States.

What he inherited was an AAA rating.

Seems to me that a major theme of his campaign was that HE was THE GUY to fix those problems.

He ran for the job. He wanted it. Now he has it. It’s HIS. End of story.

"When you have problems in Europe and in Spain and in Italy and in Greece, those problems wash over into our shores,"

Why is it that Obama reminds me of Curly, the Third Stooge, who says, "I'm a victim of soicumstances!"

What Mr. Obama needs to do is to champion the idea, among Democrats, of reducing entitlements.

Only that action can reduce the size of government, to the point where the budgeis balanced and debt eliminated.

If we still have the problem, then obviously he can’t handle the job.

Maybe this could be a bumper sticker.

Obama? He can’t handle the job!

Excuse-making perfumed-prince. NOTHING is his fault.

The USA has NO leader —the markets will note it.

I just can’t understand how anyone could even attend one of his fund raiser. It’s a crime. The fact that this clown can’t even understand what a leader is suppose to do, it boggles the mind.

He did inherit economic problems, but his own performance has been worse than his predecessor.

Here is a relevant transcript from 2-2-2009:

“PRESIDENT OBAMA: Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing about — the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. And —

MATT LAUER: You’re gonna know quickly how people feel —

PRESIDENT OBAMA: — and — and —

MATT LAUER: — about what —

PRESIDENT OBAMA: that’s exactly right. And — and, you know, a year from now I think people — are gonna see that — we’re starting to make some progress. But there’s still gonna be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s gonna be a one-term proposition.”

Take him at his word.

From today’s Rush Limbaugh show and FaceBook

“Obama blames” as a Google search term returns more than 490,000 hits. “Obama blames,” no quotes, returns 6,920,000 results on Google. Obama blames, Obama blames...everybody but himself.

The real problem, Muhammad, is that you didn't get to spend as much as you would like.

If only you had been allowed to spend a few hundred trillion more, everything would be fine.
