Though it is unrelated to their mission, the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce and Housing are among the federal agencies that will focus on helping minorities get green under an Obama Administration plan that aims to bring environmental justice to poor and underserved communities nationwide.
The effort was launched by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) last fall and the agency has doled out millions of dollars in environmental justice grants to dozens of leftwing groups, including some dedicated to helping illegal immigrants. Earlier this year the administration dedicated an additional $7 million to study how pollution, stress and social factors affect poor and underserved communities.

The goal is to help low-income populations obtain the same degree of protection from health and environmental hazards as wealthy communities. The organizations that receive U.S. tax dollars reportedly teach black, Latino and indigenous folks how to recycle, reduce carbon emissions through weatherization and participate in green jobs training.
As if it werent bad enough that millions of dollars have already gone to this initiative, the president is further wasting valuable taxpayer resources by forcing other federal agencies, most with unrelated duties, to participate. Besides the previously mentioned, the Department of Education, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Transportation, Justice, Health and Labor have all been forced to develop environmental justice strategies to protect the health of people living in communities overburdened by population.
This week the agencies signed an official Memorandum of Understanding on Environmental Justice outlining some of their new duties. Under the agreement the agencies will make environmental justice part of their mission and they will provide the public with annual progress reports on their efforts. In a written statement, the Obama Administration proclaims that its the latest effort to address the inequities that may be present in some communities.

Obamas EPA administrator, Lisa Jackson, has promised to bring minorities environmental justice since getting appointed, saying that all too often they live in the shadows of our societys worst pollution and, as a result, face disproportionate health impacts and greater obstacles to economic growth. She assures that every agency has a unique and important role to play in ensuring that all communities receive the health and environmental protections they deserve. The broad collaboration will translate into real progress for overburdened communities, according to Jackson.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list

“Obamas EPA administrator, Lisa Jackson, has promised to bring minorities environmental justice since getting appointed, saying that all too often they live in the shadows of our societys worst pollution”
Because, they are Democrats who are both stupid and Lazy!
That’s one of the major problems with BIG government. Redundancy is everywhere. What a waste of taxpayer money.
“all too often they live in the shadows of our societys worst pollution
I wish someone would explain why “the poor” live in pollution. Chances are that they probably have more ready cash than I do (I don’t get Obama money) and I don’t live in a toxic waste dump.”
Had to be written by a DNC Obama speech writer for Lisa the Pinko.
Ive had more than one occasion to read a military contract from front to back. Stuff that gives the military and the soldier no value my constitute 50% of the total price tag. In addition, lets say you have a standard product with Cadmium plated connectors. The contract says Cadmium plating is not environmentally acceptable. Replacing those connectors may double the products price. No matter. You say one of your ICs comes from a plant that uses tetra-methyl-di-whatsits? Even though theres no tetra-methyl-di-whatsits in the delivered product, youll have to replace that IC? Nobody else makes that IC? Youve got to redesign the board. Weve just gone from a cheap, off-the-shelf product to an exotic one-off design at exponentially more money.
No, the goal is to install communism in the USA through any means possible. Obama is our first all out openly communist president!!
Hell I pay for my own trash removal. A good many of these poor in the city pay for it with their taxes......oh wait, they pay for that with someone else’s taxes.

Because there is no pride of ownership. 10 years ago ( on my way to work) I noticed some projects being torn down to make way for some new housing. That new housing was Beautiful! 5 years later, it was a dump again. I think the least that should be expected of “free” housing is that it be reasonably maintained by the tennants.
I’ve heard liberals say that the poor live in more pollution because :
1. they tend to live in big cities, near busy roads carrying lots of traffic, including trucks which belch polltion, and
2. they tend to live in old apartments with lead based peeling paint, and live in old buildings with asbestos contamination.
Every day, my hatred for this administration grows by leaps and bounds.
I just want to vomit. There must be scads of ‘Obama Money’ to throw around
