Obama Dedicates Another $95 Mil To “Social Equity” Program

While Congress raises the nation’s debt limit by trillions to accommodate President Obama’s manic spending spree, the commander-in-chief keeps hurling big chunks of taxpayer dollars at new government programs that aim to bring “social equity” to underserved communities.

Among them is an imaginative multi-agency project (Partnership for Sustainable Communities) that helps low-income communities improve access to affordable housing, transportation options and lower transportation costs while protecting the environment. Less than a month ago the administration celebrated its second anniversary by bragging that three federal agencies have doled out more than $2.5 billion in “assistance” to promote “equitable development” while addressing the “challenges of climate change.”

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2011/jun/u-s-spends-2-5-bil-social-equity-program

A few days ago Obama’s Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Shaun Donovan, proudly announced an additional $95 million to support sustainable local initiatives through the end of the fiscal year. The money will help expand housing choices, improve connections between employment centers and homes and reduce barriers to achieving affordable, economically vital and sustainable communities. At least that’s HUD’s version of how the tax dollars will be spent. http://portal.hud.gov/hudportal/HUD?src=/press/press_releases_media_advisories/2011/HUDNo.11-160

But what exactly does it all mean? Donovan, who refers to the program as “an important commitment” his boss made to American families, explains it this way: "Connecting affordable housing choices with quality schools and jobs not only ensures families will be able to provide a safe environment for their children, but it also provides communities large and small with the resources they need to make a sustainable plan for their future.”

The administration repeatedly uses that word—sustainable—in press releases involving the costly initiative that seems to keep with the president’s mission of redistributing wealth. Recipients applying for a piece of the latest $95 million in grants must show they support regional planning efforts that, among other things, bring economic “competitiveness and revitalization” to low-income neighborhoods. This particular chunk of cash will place a priority on the collaboration of arts and culture, philanthropy and “innovative” ideas.

Here is a funny line that the public information officer at HUD used to conclude the press release announcing this latest, multi- million dollar allocation: “At a time when every dollar the federal government invests in jumpstarting the economy is critical, the President’s plan ensures that all these agencies are coordinating efforts and targeting resources with precision.”

You gotta love a Communist: He stirs up class envy by day and, by night, charges $30,000 a head to come to his birthday party.

"Social Equity?"

Communism by any other name is still hate driven! It is also still destructive of any society.

Interestingly, the August Feature at the Truth Based Logic Domain is pretty much on point as a response to this thrust:

Egalitarian Collectivism Sabotages Human Potential.

What Obama calls "Social Equity," is initiation into dependence on demagogues.

Linking employment centers to homes, why the Soviet Union thought of that decades ago! It’s called ‘department housing’.

Residency permits are next!

Not a penny of the US Treaury (which is empty) should ever be provided to any nonprofit. Unless that nonprofit clothes, houses or feeds humans. Actually, there should be no nonprofits allowed unless they do just that, clothe-house-feed humans.

I've been posting about nonprofits for years here on FR. When I first started doing so there were about 600,000 or so non-profits. Today there are over 1.5 million. There should be few of them. Maybe as many as there are in Mexico which is basically zero. Yea, many countries do not allow non-profits that get tax breaks, special mailing costs, etc.

The federal government has no business giving our money away to nonprofits. Many of which are in "business" to push a political agenda or enrich their handlers. Be it NPR, the Anti-Defamation League, The Sierra Club, The NRA or even Judicial Watch who has collected over $100 million dollars.

Our only hope is to pass a balanced budget amendment, go to a flat or consumption tax, sell of federal land assets, dril-baby-drill, etc. And do away with non-profit corporations.

It is way past time to cut up the Federal credit card. Shred it. It does me no good and likely does nothing for most Freepers aka the workers of America.

Another give away/reparation I found in an article on FR...there is 2 billion dollars in ObamaCare for “community gardens”.

I think they really meant “walkin’ around money for community organizers”.

We had “THE ASSESSOR” show up at our door this morning.

He had to come in and see how much more of our money the township can steal.

Great way to start the day.

Not a penny of the US Treasury (which is empty) should ever be provided to any nonprofit. No qualified is needed.

Charity is not a proper function of government nor is it authorized by the Constitution. James Madison, who wrote the Constitution, said; “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”

You forget his primary focus - reparations.

Transferring money from people who reflect to people who don’t.
