“It was a test run for something.”

Agreed. I didn't think about her husband running for office, that could be a possibility as well. I'm still thinking 0bama will pick her (Giffords) as VP. The press loves her and she will get a lot of female (and sympathy) votes.
She may have too much residual brain damage, but she's made a lot of recovery so far and the election is still a long way off. She still has quite a bit of time for rehabilitation.
The media will play up 0bama’s visits to her while she was in critical condition and it will make him more sympathetic as well. No one will be able to critcize Giffords for anything she does or says without the lapdog media coming to her defense and the outcry over “all the poor woman's been through.”
This sympathy for Giffords is how the gun grabbing agenda will get ratcheted up. I truly hope I am wrong, but I think she may be the perfect candidate to give 0bama another term.

I will be nice and say I assume you are joking. Even Obama knows it would be pretty foolish to have someone who has suffered a terrible brain injury, second in line to be President.

Have they considered the possibility that the injury may have destroyed the liberal part of her brain?

What if they get her elected Senator and she turns out to be another Margret Thatcher?
