When government is a self-justifying entity, existing only for the benefit of its employees, every citizen is a “problem” who ought to be “prevented.”

Precisely. All you have to do is to move the goalposts defining the beginning and end of life until they meet in the middle. This has always been the ambition of the seekers of absolute power: to decide who lives and who dies. As Thomas Sowell has said in The Quest for Cosmic Justice, “As history has shwon, and especially in the twentieth century, one of the first things an ideologue will do after achieving absolute power is kill.”

People need to wake up ands smell the killing fields that inhabit the imaginations of the current occupants of the White House.
