Earlier in our nation's history the idea of passing legislation that required expenditures without providing the source of revenue which shall fund those expenditures was rarely considered.

In the socialist world, you make an expenditure and just count of the largess of your taxpayers to forever fund your self-important endeavors.

In that same world, you spend trillions and in order to not make public that you want to do so forever, repeatedly, you just never pass a general budget exposing that irresponsibility and just exist on continuing resolutions to avoid a shut down.

When your exotic spending habits have reached the point where your currency printing of magic make-believe money cannot continue without an entire increase to the national debt ceiling to just sell Bonds promising your children's tax slavery, then you start calling saner heads names and petulantly demanding more monopoly money.

Eventually, the people being sold into slavery say, enough.

I think that would be the balanced budget amendment. What ever happened to "pay as you go" legislation anyway?
