Waters opens NAACP conference with fiery defense of race-conscious politics

Rep. Maxine Waters delivered a blistering defense of race-conscious politics on Sunday, telling thousands of delegates to the NAACP's national convention that conservative politicians are actively working to roll back the voting rights of African-Americans ahead of the 2012 presidential election.

"With only 15 months left before the next presidential election, Republicans are rewriting voting laws to require photo identification at the polls, reduce the number of days of early voting and to enhance voting restrictions against ex-felons and out-of-state students," Waters said, citing legislation signed into law by GOP governors in Texas, Wisconsin and Florida.

Dems just can't stand a level playing field, playing by the rules, etc.

"NAACP, I recognize that you're non-partisan — but I'm not. Sometimes … we simply cannot try to get along with everyone. We cannot … be worried that some people will say, 'Oh, they're playing the race card.' Those of us who are willing to step outside the box and fight for justice and equality must be prepared to take the criticism and make the sacrifice."

As if we didn't know already how nuts you are, Maxine. Whatever happened to MLK's exhortation to view "the content of a man's character" rather than skin color? What ever happened to the famous Rodney King question, "Can't we all get along?"

Commie beeyotch.

As a bonus...remarks by California Gov. Jerry Brown [included] "The Republicans in Washington today make Richard Nixon look like a liberal," he said, adding later: "I know they're attacking our president — they're attacking him in ways I've never seen a president attacked before."

Uh yeah, attacks on George W. Bush don't count, I'm sure. You blithering idiot pandering WHORE.

Maybe this type of black diatribe will wake people up to the fact that race is the single most important issue facing America today. The blacks are not joking and their code words of “justice” and “equality” mean black governance. I doubt such words will awaken people, but just maybe.

One can only profoundly hope so. Does this Leftist spokeslady, have any argument against any of the above? I mean a rational argument; not an appeal to the lowest possible human motivations?

We need to do a lot more to reduce the possibility of bought votes by those with a clear conflict of interest. Anyone who receives an unearned benefit from any level of Government, should lose their suffrage for that level of Government, for at least two years, after such benefit. That is only common sense. (See Universal Suffrage--Threat To Liberty. We have to stop those trying to build a Socialist monolith by increasing the dependent class that the Welfare State has already brought into being.

Nixon was a liberal. Guess who gave us affirmative action. Guess who said “Watch what we do, not what we say.”

Nixon was a liberal; he just wasn’t George McGovern, which still makes him the best choice available at that time.

With the current black unemployment where it is, and Maxine's district is likely one of the highest, a long hot summer isn't going to be any more peaceful with these Sharptonesqe remarks.

Maxine, if a “brother” has to show a license 3 times a day to buy a 40 oz malt liquor, it can’t be that much trouble to pop it back out ONCE on election day.

I wonder why Maxine did not take a poll of members present and find out just how many of the delegates had photo I.D. on them. She may be surprised to find out that 100 percent had such I. D. on them

If these are (according to Maxine) designed to stop minorities, particularly blacks, from voting, then Maxine is saying minorities don't drive, don't have any friends or family who drive (to get them to the polls for voting), and/or are ex-felons our out-of-state students trying to vote in a state where they are not permitted to do so.

Maxine, that's not a very positive picture you're painting of minorities.
