Christie releases record after Gawker suit

The office of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has released a record of a dinner attended by the governor and Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, just hours after Gawker filed a lawsuit aimed at getting the governor to release records of communication between Christie and Ailes.

The record is simply a datebook entry that indicates a private dinner attended by Christie and his wife, with a pair of details redacted and no mention of Ailes. But the governor’s office told Gawker writer John Cook the record indicates “a schedule entry for a private dinner attended by the Governor and Mr. Ailes."

Gawker is asking its attorneys to certify in court that this is the only record of contact between Ailes and Christie, and if so they will withdraw the civil suit filed Monday with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union. The suit requested record of contact between the media executive and governor, who had shielded a previous such request by invoking executive privilege.

The war against Fox News ratchets up a bit.

The Governor of New Jersey is apparantly not allowed to go out to dinner with whomever he pleases.

What, did the ACLU run out of Boy Scouts to harass?

I feel so much safer knowing that Gawker and the ACLU are on the job.

I mean what would we do without them?

They’re doing what really counts, man.

I mean, Illegals and terrorists flooding across our borders, the ATFE giving guns to Mexican drug gangs and South American communist insurgents, Black Panthers intimidating American voters, Iran going nuclear with ICBM capability, the annual deficit approaching the GDP, I mean, the most important thing is like to make sure we know every word that Christie and Ailes might have said to each other, right?

Oh Gawker is a fun site to visit. Every virus you ever thought about has visited that site.

The left has been so successful suing former Governor Sarah Palin that they feel empowered to go after any and all high profile Republicans/conservatives. They don’t seem to care if they win or not, just harassing them enough to make a news cycle or two.

The Governor of New Jersey is apparantly not allowed to go out to dinner with whomever he pleases.

But ANY Democrat apparently is, or we'd have heard the social chatter about Dem politicians and liberal journalists.

The left has attacked Christie every step of the way. But he can take the heat and will finish the job.
