Via twitter feeds, the RNC lobbied for Palin & Perry to be included. When that failed, they tried to get just Perry on the ballot. That also failed.

I don’t know how Perry is perceived in the rest of the US, but I can tell you that here in Tx where he has made many missteps and has always been the target of much sniping, I am hearing more and more people getting enthused about his potential to derail Obama.

I can see not including Palin (since she probably isn't running) but not including Perry is just weird, since he is the front runner.
To: Al B.
When that failed, they tried to get just Perry on the ballot.
That's very interesting in itself if you ask me.

As well they should be. All they had to do to be on the ballot is declare before the deadline.
Rules are the rules. It is not fair to those who have played by the rules.
They can still enter the race, they will just miss this ballot.

How do you know that Palin isn’t running but Perry is?

I'm just getting started and will be handing out this info and anything else I find at Tea party events between now and the election. ----------------------------------------------------------
Phoney hispanic "republican" front for amnesty says Rick Perry is the number one hispanic friendly US politician of 2010 elections.
Governor Rick Perry is #1 Hispanic-friendly U.S. Politician of 2010 Elections
Phoney hispanic "republican" front group encourages the GOP to use the "un American" tea partiers and then toss us aside.
How Un-American is the TEA PARTY
Are they so irrational and merely a self-centered group revolutionary geezers that do not hold American ideal and thus attack our American valuesDemocracy, Capitalism and Constitutionalism. Strategically, it seems like the right thing to do for Republican to utilize the Tea Party to diminish Obamas agenda. But it is also time for Republicans that realize that this people merely using the flag colors as facade to promote un-American agenda . While they do have the right to dissent, sadly, their agenda pushed by special interest in Sacramento and D.C. do not embody the original best American values.

You guys are dreaming if you think Palin isn’t running. What indication has she ever given that she isn’t. She has never denied that she is contemplating a run, and has announced that she will make her decision in August or September. Pal always does things under the radar, she is not a media whore. She has also said that she will run an unconventional campaign, not being attached to the hip of state bosses that hate her anyway. She will retail politick to the people. You would realize she was running if you had read her facebook post last night.
To: TexasFreeper2009
Palin is in the catbird seat of public opinion without the pitfalls of candidate.
I don’t see her running either.
She has so much sway over the debate without the sting of political repercussions, I think she will stick where she is.
Perry however has aspirations, and I dont see him running for Gov again.
He is already the longest serving Gov in US history.
There is one executive position higher than that.
The Presidency.
For all his warts, I believe Perry could wipe the floor with Obama.

Neither is running. Do-uh! Should be a no-brainer. Since neither person has declared it would only be natural to not list their names on a ballot of most any kind for any political position.
