Congress was scared into passing this by the threat of "food terrorism" by our enemies. It was a total takeover of the control of food production in the U.S. There were guarantees of exemption of small producers (not processors) but that is a hollow victory by those who value freedom. And yes, it is a terrible weapon against the freedom of a people to "control" distribution of food. Life or death at the whim of a bureaucrat. That is a sobering thought.
