Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 418,000, the Labor Department said.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims rising to 410,000. The prior week's figure was revised up to 408,000 from the previously reported 405,000.

That number has been revised up in the last year. Used to be 250K, then 300, then 325.

The number has been revised upward for Obami because we are too hard on him since he is black according to Sheila Jackson Lee.

Sadly, you are correct. I was a 1961-65 journalism student. Never experienced my professor’s politics setting foot in the classroom. And woe be unto you if you allowed your politics to color a news story.

Professionalism is just one more casualty of Marxism. Marxists are best understood if you understand that everything is politcs with them—including the weather.

“He could care less what happens to America”

He DOES care- he has a Plan for, as I said, the Total Transformation of America.

When was it, 2002, in an interview on Pacifica Radio, he just could not believe that the Constitution did not have provisions for the redistribution of wealth, and that the Supremes did not address that in Brown vs the Board of Education. And in the beginning parts of the campaign, he said something to the effect that Americans are going to have to give up the concept of eating whatever we want, having our houses heated or cooled to whatever we want, and traveling at will, because the rest of the world did not live like that (concepts common to Social Justice and Economic Justice Marxist goals).

He cares, he just wants to change it to match his concepts of how the world should work.

Not that I know of. I just do a search of keyword “jobless” here at FR to trace back the revisions.

Always with the “unexpected”!

Isn't that what Neville Chamberlain said, too?

Reuters needs to "poll" some "economists" who live in "Real Ville."

I expected this. I also expect that the numbers will continue to rise. Cisco has layoffs coming, Borders is shutting down the rest of their stores, Lockheed is cutting back, How’s that hope and change working out for you?

That means 400k more people lost their jobs last week and filed for unemployment. The stat doesn't include people already unemployed AND people who have dropped off of unemployment because the benefit ran out.
Also, it doesn't include underemployed people.

Or all those new workers who graduated from high school and college over the last 2 years. That's a lot of young people!

It doesn't include those associated with farm work, either.

Things are a lot worse than the liberal media is letting on. They want Oboma in charge when the country crashes. The country can then be rebuilt in their own communist image.

A lot of wise people are learning basic survival and storing food. These are the people who will save the Republic in the end, because all those who are dependent on the God of government today will eventually wake up to the big lie.
