Dewhurst .... oh gawd .... he has the inside chance. the GOOD NEWS if Perry runs for President, is Dewhurst stays put and tries to become Gov, then Ted Cruz, a real conservative, becomes US Senator.
Abbott wants to move up. I’d like him to be Gov.

He is one of the few REAL conservatives in the Senate. He’d make a good Lt Gov.

Lots of jockeying going on. We have a very good set of statewide officials, Abbott, Patterson, Combs, are all sharp.

Well, you know as well as I do, that what we want and what we get are two entirely different things...
I do like the three amigos (Abbott, Patterson and Combs), they are proven conservatives across a wide spectrum of elected government services...
Much more than Wentworth, Patrick and Strauss...
I rag on Patrick because he has a proven record of inconsistancy, and sometimes briliance in the way of self promotion that does not lend well in my book of political service...We’ll just have to agree to dissagree on him...His S.B. 905, torked me to no end this last session and those that helped that abomination along were no help to this state...
When you and I get to Austin, there might very well be a lot of local FReepers singing our praises...And for the right reasons...
I believe we know the job is MORE than just a campaign to get in there and get to work every other year...
Bottom line, Texas will fare much better than the rest of the nation because of a solid base, and representation by conservatives...But we got to remain tenacious and committed to protect that from the liberals who are always looking to whittle away at that base...
