Predict the date and time (eastern) of the announcement of the republican collapse in the debt ceiling "crisis." For bonus points, name the republican who makes the announcement. Winner gets .... screwed just like the rest of us.

Freepers that gleefully predict that this is going to happen, as far as I’m concerned, are no different than those on the left that push for it to happen.

It is not going to happen. Too many Freepers have been heeding the hype & spin of the media Obama whores!!! Facts are for those who face reality, Obama is a totally failed POTUS on every measurable parameter possible. In the end, Obama will be scuttled by his own Democrat Party. I do believe, the Pubbies, most of them, realize this, and see no gain whatsoever in making Obama look good by giving him access to more and more debt. The new GOP Governors and state legislatures are leading the way to fiscal sanity and acceptable norms. And...the American people in massive numbers know this and agree with it immensely!!! If the Pubbies do give Obama breathing room, it will be the biggest and politically costly action they have take in the history of the Republican Party. Obama is going down big time. Let us all (Americans) help effectively slide Obama down the toilet with flush!!!

Who makes the announcement? President Obama, Speaker Boehner, House Majority / Minority Whips, Senate Majority Leader Reid, et al. In other words, the @$$clowns of the Apocalypse.

They seem to forget the Dem's had many years to screw up this country now they expect the repubs to do a complete turn around in 6 months since they took back the house..I blame some of the Republicans for what is going on I blame them because if it had not been for them the moron and his communist trolls would not be in Washington taring ever think we hole dear to pieces..
Maybe I’m dreaming but I’d still like to think they will hold firm to the point that they either get meaningful spending reductions without tax increases or they actually get concrete agreements on tax cuts.
Don’t forget, raising the debt ceiling isn’t the battle. It’s getting the budget under control that’s the battle so what some people will no doubt label a “cave” doesn’t necessarily have to be so if they got some meaningful reforms out of it.
For the most part, we won last December over extending the “Bush tax cuts” so there is proof that the GOP doesn’t always cave. Sure, they gave up the additional unemployment benefits but they got what they really wanted.
Could the GOP cave? Of course, they’re Republicans. But I’d like to think they are going to get some reforms before they agree to raise the debt ceiling or, quite possibly, they are ready to go to the mattresses over this one.
Seriously bad idea. We should be praying for their strength and wisdom instead.
