A Turkish group with possible connections to a growing charter school system that has raised eyebrows among some conservative state lawmakers is working with the Austin school district on a Turkish language program at a handful of Austin schools.
Plans to expand the program, which gives students at three schools some instruction in Turkish language and culture, come after a group of local officials, including Superintendent Meria Carstarphen, administrators and teachers from Austin and Eastside Memorial high schools visited Turkey in December on the Raindrop Foundation's dime. State Rep. Mark Strama, D-Austin, and his wife also made the trip.
In the fall, Austin High School will launch a pilot Turkish program that will be offered after school. Austin High is home to the district's Academy for Global Studies, which was created with a grant from the nonprofit Asia Society and encourages students to become proficient in a foreign language and knowledgeable about global affairs. The school teaches Spanish, French and Chinese as part of its regular course offerings.

ditto.
the parents must be stupid.
Excellent, and long overdue. I was wondering when Austin schools would begin Turkish language and culture lessons for its students. Great work!
The Gulen movement tried to tear down Turkey's secular government and replace it with an Islamic theocracy.
Turkish isn’t bad, and it was designed to be easy. The great thing is that modern Turkish was created by Ataturk in part to help him establish a secular state, since the language removes Muslim (Arabic and Persian) influences.
See the link in post #5
This isn’t about whether Turkish is good or bad.
Turkey pays big money to turkish lobbyists to islamisize history and politicians.
Teach English.
Gulen Ping!
Now in the public schools.
Gulen is an fundamentalist Islamist billionaire,
who follows the Muslim Brotherhood “slow” plan to destroy us.
it is orders of magnitude more dangerous,
than Al-Queda ever was.
He was banished from Turkey when it was still somewhat secular. Just as the M.B. was banned in Egypt until Obama handed it to them.

our guns are USELESS.
we won’t be playing “cowboy and muslim”.
but after we grow old and die, our descendants may face Mecca 5 times a day,
if we don’t wake up and do something NOW.

Fethullah Gulen, dubbed the most dangerous Islamist on planet earth, is now under investigation by the F.B.I. for his network of charter schools throughout the country. The 140-plus charter schools, according to a newly released federal document, may serve as madrassahs where students are brain-washed to serve as proponents of the New Islamic World Order that Gulen purportedly seeks to create. The Gulen schools, which have been established in nearly every state in the union, ...

Thanks for the info. I didn’t know about this guy.
The Turks had success as a modern country for a while after Islam was separated from the state. Now they’re going to go right back down again with the growing power of Islam there.
I looked into this after I read an article about his schools. In all fairness to Turkey, Turkey tried to put him in jail.
Turkey did but, the rest of the countries where they’ve set up these schools have caught on yet.
That’s why I’m trying to bring it to people’s attention.

Strama said that after touring a Harmony school, meeting with its PTA, speaking at graduations and making the trek to Turkey, he feels “these are the kinds of tolerant and moderate Muslims that we need to deepen our relationships with as a bulwark against extremism.”
Strama must have missed the Christian Armenian genocide that occurred in that “moderate” country with the use of Turkey’s military & “secular” government.
Strama is a f’in Austin Liberal. Along with that AISD Yankee lesbo, they are sending Austin children down the drain.
Doesn’t really surprise me that they would fall for this crap.
Strama is just trying to keep Austin weird..... or I mean extremist islam.
What a putz. It’s too close for comfort for me.
Ammo up y’all!!!
great CBN link! thanks to both you and wolfcreek.
it is beyond belief, that his man is allowed to build schools in the U.S.
Islam has declared war on us, yet we invite more in every day, and let them build masjids and schools...
Even England in the late 1930’s wasn’t THAT sleepy...
