I wonder if anyone outside of FR readers has ever seen the pattern of
when they government has to “shut down”, they only shut down those things that hurt the people, not those things that hurt the government or its employees.

Yep, exactly. It’s always the critical services that get impacted first. Never mind the millions spent on stem-cell research, AIDS, and gov’t assistance to Somali immigrants and welfare queens.

They hold the gun to our heads in the form of cutting safety services, police, fire, military anything that cause us to be uncomfortable. 0bama’s threat to senior citizens is just such a tactic. Will he do it, just to prove his point...you betcha’ he will.
They have done this for years and for whatever reason we’ve more or less always taken the bait.
