The chief sponsor of Arizona's controversial anti-illegal immigration law SB1070 will likely face a recall election, according to news reports.

State Senate President Russell Pearce, who is well known for his stance against illegal immigration, will face a recall election in November after Maricopa County officials certified that petitioners gathered more than enough valid signatures to force a special vote, according to FoxNews.com and the Associated Press.

Arizona State Senate President Russell Pearce, chief sponsor of the state's controversial anti-illegal immigration law, will likely face a recall election in November.

Citizens for a Better Arizona are leading the recall initiative. Group leaders say they do not believe Pearce reflects the goals of Legislative District 18, according to the Arizona Republic.

"Today is basically a formal recognition that an earthquake has taken place in Legislative District 18," recall organizer Randy Parraz told the Arizona Republic. "This is another victory along the road toward the ultimate victory, which is to remove Russell Pearce from office."

Pearce can file a legal challenge to the signatures, his attorney told the Arizona Republic. It's unclear whether he will take that route.

Well, that'll show him what happens when he does his own job. I would challenge those 10000+ signatures, every one of them, to make sure they're legal Arizona citizens and not Californians and/or illegal immigrants.

Isn’t this the one that had 200 or fewer signatures against him on Friday?

American communists and illegals will use recall as a weapon hoping that a few will stick to the wall. It will be up to the voters to keep him in office and AZ should adopt a new law that if a recall petition fails in the election that they will be charged the cost of the recall. This might stop this kind of BS.

Anyone here live in his District? I’m just curious what the word is as far as any real danger he may be in on this. I would presume very little, but I know nothing of his district.

Why would any reasonable law-abiding, tax-paying citizen support illegal immigration?

It's OK for aliens to waltz in and use all the tax-paid services, take the jobs, use the public facilities, trash the landscape, and glean special privileges from local law enforcement authorities, as contrasted with you and I, and all other civil populations across the international community, who dutifully respect national protocols and values?

Is it the outright greed of certain lobbying American employers? Is it the blatant racism of La Raza, who put that above lawful respect? Is it the Democratic party who just want the votes and be damned the conscious citizenship, obligations, and tax-paying status of the constituency? Is it the Mexican aristocratic elitists who want to ship out their own impoverished nationals?

Who IS IT?

Too bad the AZ governor vetoed the voter ID law. Maybe they ought to recall her.

The guy pushing this is basically a terrorist from California.

He's a white Spaniard trying to use Cesar Chavez' name to get himself power over the Evil Gringo.

The Mexican upper class caste is trying to pull off the same game they've been running in Mexico for 500 years - get control of the revenue and steer it to themselves, while the peons toil in the sun.

They did that with threats, intimidation, La Mordida and murder.

This fraud is no different. Another Reconquistador covering himself in the sackcloth of victimhood, when his real mission is self enrichment and the status of the Caudillo.

Once in power he'll demand tribute and write a little book named "Just Call Me Jefe".

The illegals do their own thing. They vote if they want to.
No one checks.
