President Obama is still seeking the largest deficit reduction deal possible as part of a package deal to raise the debt ceiling, he said in a press conference today.
"I continue to push congressional leaders for the largest possible deal," he said from the White House. "It is possible for us to construct a package that would be balanced, share sacrifice [and] would involve both parties taking on their sacred cows."

The president said today he would not accept a smaller, short-term deal. "We might as well do it now," he said. "Pull off the band aid. Eat our peas."

1:26 a.m. ET - "I feel pretty confident" Americans don't want U.S. to default on its debts, Obama said. He said some of the professional politicians know better than to say we shouldn't raise the debt limit.
"This isn't something I'm making up," Obama said. "I'd rather be talking about stuff everybody welcomes like new programs or the NFL season getting resolved. Unfortunately this is what's on our plate."
As I and others have said...he wants the office and the perks but not the job.

Yes, he’s purposefully using language a parent would use with their child to make the GOP appear as insolent children.

The other day he bragged that his daughters always have their homework done before it is due. The implication was that the GOP is worse than kids.
Of course, his kids dont have the RAT party and its RAT president blocking their every move. Big difference but lost on him.
Professional politicians are 100% responsible for the mess we are in. Not the rich, not the poor, not nobody else.
I already “sacrifice” over 30% of MY income to you bastards every year. I am ready for someone else to share in the sacrifice.
