CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—When the city of Cambridge issues paychecks to its public employees, nearly two dozen workers find a federal tax on their income that their colleagues don't have to pay.
Like many people, these 22 school and city workers chose to put their spouses on their employer-provided health insurance. Because they're in a homosexual relationship, the value of that health coverage is considered taxable income by the federal government.
But starting this month, Cambridge will become what is believed to be the first municipality in the country to pay its public employees a stipend in an attempt to defray the cost of the federal tax on health benefits for their same-sex spouses.

All this he/he and she/she business has me confused. If he marries he, and then decides he wants to marry she, do he/he have to divorce first so he can marry she? Is it like a normal he/she divorce without the children? Geeeez some one develop a time machine, I want to go back to the IKE years.

If the American people didn’t revolt over getting robbed by international bankers abetted by our elected officials then I don’t think they’ll revolt over this.
What do you mean 'without the children'?? The she/she's have and adopt children. The he/he's adopt. Look at Elton John having a son by a surrogate mother?? How would you like having the job of explaining 'the birds and the bees' to that kid??
The lawyers are gonna have a field day with all this. In a conventional divorce, she get's the wealth and he gits the shaft. What's gonna happen in a she/she divorce. That can be a cat fight of all cat fights.
But I thought the democrats said everybody needs to pay more taxes and pitch in their fair share and talking of cutting taxes was unpatriotic, these gay people should be happy paying more taxes after all it just goes to all those fantastic social programs like helping the poor, the children and the elderly

They are making a mess of thing intentionally, breaking it all. This time they intend to just do a way legally with all marriage all together. This is their plan.

Also laws forbidding the eating of meat. All the vegan, earth worshiping, animal loving, sierra club UNers.
I thought paying taxes was patriotic. Nice to see the lunatic liberals of Cambridge finally see a tax or fee as punitive, and that by paying such fees people deserve a refund. The thing the libs don`t realize is that even liberal straights who support gay everything will eventually start wondering why they can`t get such savings since they have the right politics...and if they`re brave enough to follow this line of thinking they will start to see how insane liberal ideas of `equality` truly are.

I noticed afterwards that you said “The ‘Society’”.
In Massachusetts there is a box on the state income tax form to check if you desire to pay a higher rate.
Believe it or not there are a few people that check the box but very few. (John Kerry is not one of them).
I doubt many in this “special class” pay higher either.
The tax code is the problem, and honestly the same is true with trying to find any honest objective from the homosexual agenda. I’m not even sure plenty of them even know that final element that will satisfy them, either.
As far as getting married goes, frankly, if getting a tax break was a reason for getting some “marriage” then this is a really bad reason for getting a marriage, not to mention a serious flaw in the tax code as well.
I know I live in ma, last year I got a state tax refund this year they sent me a form so I could claim that refund as income, so basically I was taxed this year on the money I was overtaxed last year, and that is why we bought a house in nc and are moving there as soon as the kids finish school
