Hey, Washington, I've Been Paying Into Social Security And Medicare For 48 Years--So How Much Are You Cutting From YOUR Benefits?

The following is supposedly a letter written by a Montana farmer to Alan Simpson, a former senator from Wyoming.
Simpson was the co-chair of the commission President Obama appointed in 2010 to look at ways to fix our deficit problem. The recommendations of the commission were instantly ignored.
Last year, Sen. Simpson compared Social Security to a milk cow with 310 million teats. He also called America's senior citizens the "greediest generation."
This letter points out that Sen. Simpson himself, along with many other career politicians, has spent his life sucking on the taxpayer's teat.
We have no idea if the letter is real, but we imagine it captures the feelings of many Americans as they watch their dysfunctional government drive the country ever-deeper into a hole by making decisions that seem designed only to get them re-elected.
Given the extent of our current financial problems, some government leaders at some point are going to have to break promises made to Americans by their government predecessors--predecessors who made promises they knew they couldn't keep.
(snip)
Here's the text of the supposed letter to Mr. Simpson. We've edited out some adjectives and expletives.
(snip)(Go, Read the whole thing, lol)
It is you and Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes. You have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

I told someone a while back to keep track of their previous and present politicians such that when TSHTF they’ll know where to go to eat because these people will have our money.
Nailed it!
Cutting bennies for the political aristocracy is a big no-no.
“.......Simpson [a DEMOCRAT] compared Social Security to a milk cow with 310 million teats. He also called America’s senior citizens the “greediest generation.”
At some point, soon, we need to push back... HARD.
I wonder how much it would cost if every patriot, all at the same time, would not go to a store and buy ANYTHING for one day? How about 2 days, 3, 4, maybe even a week?
Perhaps we should starve the bastards out of office. NOTHING is ever going to get better until Obama is forced to leave Office.
I know, such a high stake game would hurt us all, but, not one drop of blood would have to be shed.
I’m 62 and I think that makes me a senior citizen. Well, my generation didn’t respond very well to threats and I am sure as hell not going to change.
I am sick of these threats and they need to be quieted one way or another....
Businesses will not like this and I don’t blame then one bit, but I think it’s time for America to go on strike.... oh, and imagine how much money you’ll save. ;>)
Alan Simpson, Republican Senator from Wyoming, 1979 to 1997. His father was also a Wyoming Senator and Governor.
At the end of each quarter, politicians have to report earnings from investments and if exceeds the growth of the nation, they have to liquidate the investment and donate that money to global warming initiatives.
See how quickly global warming become a myth.
LOL.... Good job.
Thinking out of the box... I like it.
out of the box=outside of the box
None of these people ever have to learn to live within their means, because they just continue to give themselves more and more benefits. Travel expenses, per diem while in session, and while not. Even salary out of their own campaign funds (each campaign is authorized to give the candidate an equivalent salary of the federal position they're campaigning for from campaign funds, even if they already hold the office. Start your campaign 1 year and 1 day before the general election, you can nab an extra two years of salary from your campaign...)
Congress could pass this tomorrow; they can end benefits for those who already ‘retired’, IE: were thrown out by the taxpayers. They could end their own benefits, but they won't. They tell us that we're bankrupt, yet they still pull down massive salaries and even more massive benefits, yet they say don't look at this, look at means testing for social security, look at trimming the SSI qualifications, look anywhere but at us.
And this is an institutional endemic for all layers of government, right down to your own city council. End it, show us that you're actually serious caretakers of our money, and not the very leeches that we should be most concerned about.
Government spending is out of control. With the current deficits ($1.6 trillion), debt ($14 trillion), and projected future unfunded liabilities ($100+ trillion), our economic future is doomed unless substantial reductions are made in government spending. Unfortunately, Social Security and Medicare will need to be substantially reduced along with federal pensions, Medicaid, housing vouchers, food stamps, military spending (although a priority over social spending), government agencies, and most government programs. There is no way that Social Security and Medicare can continue on their current path so you should expect major reductions.
Unfortunately, the baby boomers are on the back end of the entitlement Ponzi scheme. There is no way for baby boomers to escape the coming reductions. The greatest generation is rightfully referred to as the greediest generation. The greatest generation was on the front end of the entitlement Ponzi scheme, reaping huge benefits from relatively low payroll taxes and then increased benefits.
I am not sure that blame is useful now. We need to stop the trainwreck before it occurs. Only substantial reforms in government spending will stop the demise of the dollar and economic ruin.
I’d love to see legislation passed requiring the total pay and benefit costs of every current serving US politician and civil servant, and the pension and benefits received by every retired US politician and civil servant, posted on-line. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that Alan Simpson’s struggling to get by on pensions and other benefits approaching or even exceeding seven figures.
I'm a boomer, and have long expected that my paltry social security benefits and medicare would likely be scaled back considerably before I ever got much chance to enjoy them. What is almighty galling, however, is the certitude that not one of the crooks who caused this debacle, congresscritters current or retired who were derelect in their responsibilities and are and struggling to get by on six-figure pensions with full health insurance and other benefits, will see their pay, pensions, or benefits sliced by one thin dime. As the rest of us sink beneath the waves, drinks will still be being served in first class.
This will not end well.
We may be headed for some sort of civil war....old people will not be the only ones affected.
” We may be headed for some sort of civil war....old people will not be the only ones affected. “
I’m not implying anything, of course (ahem), but our ‘Betters’ would do well to consider that our generation is the last generation that endured the draft - and therefore there are a much higher percentage of us trained in combat arms (and I’m not talking about Sunday Afternoons at the Range - complete with picnic lunch)...
And, as further food for contemplation, remember that *our* war was the last one that was fought with *real* Rules of Engagement - not the “War by Tee-Ball Rules” inflicted on our youngsters today...
Just sayin’.....
We can/will die without fighting or we will die without fighting. That is now our options. Either way they plan for us to die by their hand. Thanks to the voters in 2006 and 2008. the elderly and infirm are the first two targets. After that, they will increase the targets.
If we wait much longer, my FRiend, it will be too late. The sand in the hourglass is running out on us. Rapidly.
YUP
And many Conservative Christians will
mutter on the way to the death chambers . . .
“But I thought all that was tinfoil hat stuff! How could I have known? I had my ears and eyes sealed shut for decades—how could I have known? . . .
They figure on terminating . . . what is it now . . .
7 billion minus 200 million?
. . . so that would be . . . 6 billion 800 million “useless eaters” they are determined to turn into fertilizer for the vast acrage of the planet to be turned into a vast Natural park??
Thankfully, Scripture indicates they won’t get that far before God flushes them all at Armageddon.
Yet, even Scriptures says that 1/3 will die and then later 1/3 of what’s left will die.
