It makes perfect sense. There were two big homes for unwed mothers in Vancouver, and escaping over the border to canada was what the young pregnant Seartle girls did at the time. One was run by the Catholic church, so it would be less likely the atheist Stanley Ann would choose that one. The other was run by the Salvation Army.
No one saw Stanley Ann in Hawaii after her pregnancy got underway. She first showed up in public with a newborn Barack in Seattle.

IMO BHO was born in Canada. A while back a fellow Freeper, maybe it was you, posted some very detailed and logical time-wise scenarios about a possible Canadian birth. Both the pre-birth and post-birth sequence of documented events and appearances by Stanley Ann fit into this scenario very well.
