The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday finalized stronger regulations for Wisconsin and 26 other states aimed at curbing air pollution from long-distance sources.
The rules will help those states fight ozone and particle pollution caused by power plants in Illinois, Indiana and other states.
But Wisconsin utilities - whose pollution can contribute to air-quality problems elsewhere - will also need to find ways to reduce their own emissions.
The likely result: Higher electric bills in the coming years.
A group of power companies known as the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity called the action one of the most costly crackdowns on coal ever.
Nationwide, the EPA estimated utilities will spend $1.2 billion next year and $800 million in 2014 to comply with the rule.

At the direction of the President I assume.
What the hell are they going to plug all those electric cars into?
The marxist takeover is almost complete...but there will be a civil war prior to the announcement of the victor. It’ll be short, but I’m old anyway. Sad.
I know that Democrats in the Senate don’t care but what about the House? They need to defund the EPA. Either that or the American people need to stand tall and close down the EPA.
Every EPA Nazi should be dragged out from behind the desk and into the street and hanged.
The EPA doesn’t mind killing our country, businesses and families. Time to return the favor.
Under my plan, electricity costs will necessarily skyrocket.
Disband the EPA. Next adminstration..put Inhofe in charge
I’m curious how many FReepers filed a formal comment against this rule during the comment period.
All Bachmann would need to do is state that on her first day in office she would dismantle the EPA, and she would win by the biggest landslide in history.
I have a suggestion for an agency they can reduce spending to $0.00.
I'm sure that information is prnted in the story. sic'
I was told by a family member that the EPA is already in coal fired plants issuing fines for anything and everything. Heard one plant got fined 250k for not having permits for work that was done to a boiler in the early 80’s.
Texas finds business-friendly way to cut emissions, EPA shuts program down

Why? Does EPA head Lisa Jackson need more toilet paper...
And you, sir, will command. You will gather the 50 year olds, who will gather the 30 and 40 year olds who will form the companies of men to defend our Country.

Oh, the stories I could tell...
How about this one....
20 years ago you got approval from your state for a permit modification and then now, the federal EPA fines you millions of dollars because they say the state should not have given you that approval.
Happens all the time.
I can only hope that my epitaph includes the words “blaze of glory”. :{)...except I’m serious.

Yes, just like his statements desiring “European” levels of gasoline pricing, Baraq is on record saying he’ll put coal companies out of business.
But the MSM was far more interested in the status of Joe the plumber Wurzelbacher’s trade license.
EPA and Enviro Groups decide what will be regulated, how it will be regulated, and at what level, long before the first Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. THEN, and only then, they put together bogus "science" and other data that says that we must regulate at the preordained level or we'll all get cancer in the next 3 years, and "guesstimate" the costs at 1/10 of what they'll actually be.
Hell, half the time these things are all set in stone before they've even gotten their back-pocket Leftist Congressthings to force through enabling legislation.
From the first demented idea to regulate in the diseased mind of an Enviro-Com until the final regulation is being enforced, NOTHING CHANGES ... not one iota -- no matter the truth, the facts, the reality, the true science, the economic impact, or anything else ANYBODY might say.
EPA is the vanguard of our new communist nation.
