A small town in Arizona is suddenly a YouTube sensation after a town-hall meeting devolved into a physical clash as a woman was forcibly removed from speaking during the public portion of the event. Jennifer "Jade" Jones, 45, of Quartzsite, Ariz., was taken into custody by local police at the behest of Quartzsite councilmembers, over the objections of the mayor, who pleaded with officers not to remove the woman.

Great post.

Watch the video and sigh. These officers should be fired. Any good lawyers in the area?

Quartzite is an incredible place. Over the winter it is home to thousands upon thousands of RV “snowbirds” who encamp there. In summer the place looks deserted. I have often stopped at a bakery on the outskirts of town (there is really no town center), and the usual discussion held as locals drink coffee, eat beautiful pastries and pass the time, is just how corrupt things are. I passed it off as the usual Quartzite wackiness, but this, this is something different and more manacing.

This little incident in this little town is a microcosm of the present state of affairs in this declining nation.

Wow I saw nothing to remove the speaker for.The council members who ask for her removal should be recalled and kicked off the board.

I would work very hard to get them dis elected.

It seemed obvious to me on who side the council the police sided with. Normally a mayor has control of the police force. Some thing is very wrong in is town.

This sort of police/political arrogance and contempt for citizens is a national phenomenon. One day there will be an ARMED Mrs. Jones, accompanied by an armed Mr. Jones and a few neighbors and the fan will be hit by more than ****!

Mr. hocndoc disagrees with me, but I believe that the citizens in the room should have come to the aid of thart woman and the mayor. The police and, especially, Winslow, were out of order. (I’ve watched tthe part of the meeting leading up to that point, on you-tube, also.)

He thinks that they should use the law to charge those who violated the law.
However, I hope that I would have come to her defense, at the time. And, maybe make a citizen’s arrest.
