Made a mistake? Or were they hacked?
The problem is it’s so like the Republicans to cave.
That’s why I believed it anyway.
And I still expect them to cave......

I watched Kyl’s comments during Special Report on Fox. Reuters are hacks.

I hear you; It is so much like Republicans to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

This may be a smokescreen for Kyl, as user fees ARE taxes.
For instance, how about a $5000 FEE to file your 1040 with the IRS? Course you could refuse to pay the fee and not be allowed to file the 1040........
Failure to file is a Federal Felony, fine and imprisonment.....

Fees are taxes. I agree. Look at your phone bill, cell phone bill, car registration, etc. They can call em fees all they want but if they take money out of my wallet they are the same as taxes.

“...They were wrong. Kyle specifically detailed how the revenue would come from liquidating government property and use fees.”
Liquidate government property = great idea.
Use fees = stealth taxes.

I forget who owns Reuters nowadays, but remember back in the
Clinton days, I'm pretty sure it was a Reuters chick that actually
reported the truth when Clinton said he raised taxes too much.
Nobody else did so.

And Kyl DID agree to new fees.
Additionally who is going to buy Federal property (another Kyl agreement) when Fed regulators can arbitrarily prevent the new owner from using it for anything.
Answer: only crony capitalists who have inside connections with government, and they will get it ultra cheap and cheat the taxpayer. Remember crony capitalism is actually Fascism, yep, it is, and that's as far left as ya can get.

If you have no choice but to pay the ‘fee’ (as in your scenario) it is indeed a tax. However, if you have the choice whether or not to use a service, the ‘user fee’ is not a tax. It’s just the cost of something you wanted. OTOH, you’re forced to pay a tax, whether or not you want any government services.

Liquidate government property = great idea. Can be, but only in true free enterprise capitalism, which we ain't got by a long shot.

News media corruption is very visible since the 2004 election. I’ve learned to assume the press is lying in key events. But can democracy survive with a press this scared and corrupt? Scared because this regime is led by a vindictive and bloodless Barack Obama, Stalinist of the Age.

I would agree if the government entity collected only fees and never was appropriated tax funds.
If they ever took a dime in taxes then everything they take is taxes regardless of spelling.
