Most Mexicans and other Latin Americans wouldn’t leave their countries if not for economic reasons. We wouldn’t leave our country unless we had to, right? And they wouldn’t either.
One of the things Mexicans have wanted since the Johnson administration is a reimplementation of the guest worker program, so they could legally come and go. This was blocked by the unions. Ironically after Cesar Chavez’ lefty farmworkers union became part of the AFL-CIO, it really shut down Mexican workers.
So if their country is doing better now, I guess we’ll have to start picking our own vegetables. Georgia tried to recruit people to do that, got a few whites (most of whom left after half a day), no blacks, and even the state prisoners refused to do the work.
It’s going to be tough for you vegetarians out there.
Hey Mexico needs their skilled middle class to return.

Probably the illegals have discovered the economy is better in Mexico than in the US.

My thoughts exactly; a few months back we were being told they were going back, but that sure as hell hasn’t happened near me. There’s even more, as the anchor babies start to sprout.
I live in Michigan and see stories about illegals in the local news all the time.

I was at an intersection along a highway in Newark NJ when I was approached by three men (it sounds like a joke); an Indian selling flowers, a Latino selling bottled water, and a black guy just asking for money; I don’t think the last guy came out on top in this arrangement. I didn’t deal with any of them, because it would involve opening my window, but I appreciated the efforts of two of them.
