Casey Anthony broke down in tears as the prosecution labelled her a liar who killed her two-year-old daughter on the final day of the searing murder trial that has gripped America. The mother of little Caylee was unable to control her emotions as she listened to powerful closing statements from both sides in the Orlando court today. The case could be with jurors ready to decide Anthony's fate by as early as tonight, after more than 33 days of testimony and 400 pieces of evidence. The prosecution claimed Anthony murdered her daughter because of a 'conflict between the life that she wanted and the life that was thrust upon her' and out of fear that the toddler would blow open her 'layers of lies'. Prosecutor Jeff Ashton told the court that there was 'conclusive proof' that the party-loving mum suffocated two-year-old Caylee to rid herself of her maternal duties, then left the little girl’s corpse to rot in the woods.
'The evidence in this case proves beyond doubt that Casey Anthony decided on June 16, 2008, that something had to be sacrificed, that the conflict between the life that she wanted and the life that was thrust upon her was simply irreconcilable and something had to give,' he said.
'She chose to sacrifice her child to live the life that she wanted. She took her child, she took her life…and she disposed of her body in a swamp.'

Of all the footage I’ve seen of Casey supposedly crying, I’ve never actually seen tears..

I am glad I’m not on that jury. The last time I was, I felt in my heart the guy was guilty, but the prosecutor didn’t prove a darned thing.
I would probably have the same opinion here.
It’s going to be real tough for the jury.

This is going to be cold and heartless, but who cares?? Why is this case any different than the other thousands of murders that happen each year? It is the, “case du jour.” I have found it disgusting in it’s 24 hour a day coverage. The country is falling apart around our feet and the the masses are consumed by a trial.
Actually, they’ve proven a lot. Including many lies that can explained by only one thing: Casey Anthony murdered her daughter.
What I don’t understand is if her parents knew she was so flakey and irresponsible, and they would of had to know, as the father of Caylee was never identified or involved, why didn’t they just take Caylee and raise her until Casey got her act together?
I know a few cases of grandparents caring for there grandchildren because thier kids are irresponsible and not caring for thier kids properly....
If it was an accident.....It would have been reported. And you don't wrap an accident in a garbage bag and toss it.
Then there's the chloroform........That computer search set the scene.

How is this any different than what happens in American abortion-murder centers over 4000 times a day?
How can this “prosecutor” even say this with a straight face when abortion-murder facilities are operating with impunity, probably within walking distance of the court house?

Hard to say. There was very little evidence conclusively showing how the baby was killed. This is a death penalty case, potentially. The jury has to be beyond sure to vote “yes”.
I can see the jury going either way.
FTR: I think she’s as guilty as sin. But I’m not under the pressure the jury is.
Prayers for the jury to have the wisdom to make the correct judgment.

I think Caylee’s death was an accident, could of been the chloroform or a drowning, and because Casey is so irresponsible and a infernal liar she tried to hide it...
I just don’t see someone killing thier child without some kind of history of child abuse or they are declared insane like the Texas mother, who drowned her 5 children....
This is such a disturbing case.
It’s hard to believe that a mother could be so callous about killing her child.
The instincts of a mother could never allow her to kill her child.
And it’s bizarre that the story was told of finding the body in the swimming pool, but they didn’t call authorities at that time. It’s bizarre that Casey said that Caylee was at a babysitter’s house for months.
Everything about this case is bizarre. I hope she enjoys prison. I hope she ends up going there for a long long time.
You’ll be amazed at how quickly the jury returns a guilty verdict on capital murder charges. They’re tired of the lies and distortions being offered as a “defense” for this loathsome woman.
As a defense lawyer, Jose Baez is an absolute clown; it’s quite likely he could have cut a deal with the state, getting Casey to plead guilty to second degree murder in exchange for a maximum sentence on those charges. But he and his client decided to take their chances with a jury. Their tricks might have worked in a place like California, particularly with the “right” jury. But that Florida jury isn’t buying it, and they’ll send her off to the big house, and an eventual date with the “hot shot.”
In the mean time, Casey will become the girl friend of the biggest dyke in the prison, in exchange for some sort of protection. And she’ll grant countless interviews with the media, claiming anything that might help her appeal.
Sadly, we haven’t heard the last of Casey Anthony and won’t until she’s strapped to that gurney about 15 years from now.
This heartless b!tch couldn’t have given this child up for adoption?
