I stopped at ...”a 39-year-old mother of eight facing the loss of about $3,600 a month in state child care subsidies.”...... Unreal. That is one of the main reasons there are problems....................that is $22.50 based on a 40 hr work week.............that is some serious cash. I would love to make. I always thought Government was there to give you a little help if you need it not a life style

I guess maybe Mark Dayton should get down off his high horse and sign the budget bill.

If higher taxes for the wealthy are the issue in MN, the GOP and Minnesota residents are smart to avoid those tax increases. Other states have tried millionaire/billionairre tax increases and they didn’t work. Thats because there simply aren’t enough rich folks to make a difference. After those failures, the Democrats in those states tried raising taxes on the middle class...thats what they really want to do. There are many more in the middle class so the Dems would absolutely love to use the failure of higher taxes on the wealthy to stick it to the little guy.

Hold firm, Minnesotans...the Dems will soon try to raise all of your taxes too.

In Minnesota Friday, highway construction came to a halt, rest stops and state parks closed. And 22,000 state workers have been laid off. The reason: a protracted budget dispute between the state's Democratic governor and Republicans who control the Legislature.

When there is no money; there is no money. The Democrats solution of more taxes, more borrowing, more irresponsible spending, and printing money is reaching its logical end game.

IMHO, Conservatives shouldn't criticize a women for having lots of children. The issue is that neither she, nor the ‘baby daddies’ are paying the shot. As another poster said, it's the cuckoo bird strategy — where ‘society’ has to pay.

This woman doesn't likely make anywhere near 3,600/month, when she's working. Giving her a $3,600/month child care subsidy, so she can work at a job paying a lot less, is very inefficient.

On the ABC evening news, there was a big sob story from a camper who couldn’t go camping this weekend because the MN state parks were closed. So the MN taxpayers are supposed to pay for people to go camping and also for child care credits for irresponsible people.

But after the shutdown, she also has to care for her six youngest children, ages 3 through 14, because she lost state funding for their day-care and other programs.

If you add in the monthly food stamps, housing subsidy, free clothing, utilities assistance, medical care, etc. she just might be one of those rich people the rats are always wanting to tax more. Wonder if she has a corpoate jet?

Tax deadlines still in place during Minnesota shutdown
Associated Press

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Despite the Minnesota government shutdown, you still have to pay your state taxes. But don’t expect to receive any tax refunds for now.

The useless female gets $3,600 a month because she can’t figure out how to get free birth control pills. Screw that. The least she can do is clean out pig stys for $3,600 a month.

This country is filled up with too many fat-ass liberal females whose sole purpose is to dump kids on us she expects normal people to support. Enough. If you’re dumping more than one kid on society and expect support, you can’t vote. That will destroy the fascist Rat party.

In the absence of talks between Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and GOP legislative leaders, the shutdown was rippling into the lives of people like Sonya Mills, a 39-year-old mother of eight facing the loss of about $3,600 a month in state child care subsidies.

Then Governor Goofy should have signed any of the three balanced budgets the Republican legislature provided him.

Read the comments section of that article to understand why the state is in such a mess.

I had never felt comfortable with the stigma that was attached to a single woman with a child, this by the previous generation to mine. The only thing to be said for it was that so many men were forced to face their obligations.

Many a marriage turned out nicely between a man and a woman who HAD to get married. It was far easier to get the "Dad" and make him pay. Unfortunately the new ways of glossing over the state of non-marriage, seems to have brought UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES.

The recalcitrant begger goes free to impregnate other women. Laughing his backside off, as society looks after his offspring.
