WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Sen. Kay Hagan has been traveling the state on her "Fighting for our Future" budget listening tour. The senator says she wants to hear directly from North Carolinians about common sense solutions to reduce our deficit and put the nation's fiscal house in order.
Next week, Hagan will make the fourth and final stop on her tour in New Hanover County. The event is Friday, July 8, at 11:15 a.m. at the McKeithan Center at Cape Fear Community College's North Campus.
The roundtable-style listening session will also include UNCW Senior Economist Dr. Woody Hall; Linda Pearce, Director, Elderhaus Adult Day Health Center; Dr. Wade Watanabe, UNCW Research Professor; and Steve Smith, Retired USMC & Chaplain, Onslow County Special Incident Response Team.
Next week Hagan will also hold several "Conversation with Kay" sessions with constituents in southeastern North Carolina. Constituents can come meet with Hagan to talk about their concerns. Her constituent services staff will be on site to help people navigate issues with federal agencies, such as the VA, IRS or Social Security Administration.
Thursday, July 7, Hagan will meet with constituents at the Bladen County Courthouse at 106 East Broad St. in Elizabethtown from 11 a.m to noon. Her staff will be available from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
From 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Hagan's staff will be at Southeastern Community College, Building T, Room 120, 4564 Chadbourn Highway in Whiteville. The senator will be there 1-2 p.m.
The next stop is at Brunswick Community College, 50 College Road in Bolivia. Staff available 2:30-4:30 p.m. while Hagan meets with constituents 3-4 p.m.
"Conversations with Kay" wraps up Friday, July 8 in Burgaw. Hagan will meet with constituents 2-3 p.m. Her Constituent Services staff will be on site 1:30-3:30 p.m. That session is at the Pender County Administrative Building, County Commissioners Meeting Room at 805 S. Walker St.
Why do I think we will get to hear, "As I traveled around North Carolina everyone told me we should borrow more money from China and raise taxes so that the moochers could get more goodies from the government." (translated from Haganese)
These inevitably devolve into - “I need a new kitchen”.
Give your name to my staff person over here and we’ll have a look. Granite countertops and sub-zero, presumably?
doh! Wrong leftist twit! Perdue, Hagan: what’s the difference, right?
Obama swept this trash in, hopefully he will sweep her out as well.
