My advice at this point would be to abandon the GOP. I believe to be nominated by either major party at this point is to be compromised. A counter revolution must be mounted by a 3rd party taking back the executive branch first.

I’m really starting to believe that you are right about that. The GOP was toast a long time ago. And if this is what they are offering us in regards to possible candidates, they are only confirming that!
Romney=Pro choice, Pro Socialized Healthcare
Perry= Yet another RINO
Gee thanks guys! If the Republican National Committee calls my house looking for coin they are going to get it!

This has zero chance of succeeding and WHY would you even want to risk it? Simply take over the GOP with the exact same people you will depend upon to create a winning "third" party.
We already have at least 40 so-called "third parties". Isn't that enough? Do you think one more will do it?

There are no third party successes in American history. None. The Republicans succeeded only because the Whigs literally vanished several years earlier. The unique structure of the American two-party system (single member district, winner take all), combined with the spoils system, spells death for any third party. Ask the Populists, ask the Progressives, ask the Liberty, ask the Know-Nothings, ask the Greens, ask the Reform, ask the Libertarians.
The only path to success is, and has always been, change the existing parties from inside.
