An interesting graphic I remember from the 2008 election- From polling data, 20% of Conservatives voted for him (normally conservatives vote 1-3% Democrat). Some of that may have been skewed, but I truly believe many Conservatives believed him when he said he wanted to use the best ideas of both sides to forge a moderate coalition. He's not about to get that benefit of a doubt.
All I know is- when Bush was President, unemployment was 4-5%, my family had a 6-figure income, and we were buying gas for $1.60/gallon. Under Obama, we lost our home, we're on Food Stamps, my wife and I are working 2 jobs each, and gas is $3.50 a gallon.
“...but I truly believe many Conservatives believed him when he said he wanted to use the best ideas of both sides to forge a moderate coalition.”
I believe that you are correct.
My father in law is a Korean war vet, retired airforce fighter pilot and was 85 years old in 2008. He voted for obama and he’s no liberal. He regrets it now, and I take a dig at him now and again for voting for the traitor.
