Anchorage Daily News: Poll shows Alaskans would vote for Obama over Palin
Anchorage Daily News ^ | 06/28/2011 | Sean Cockerham

A new Hays Research poll shows Barrack Obama would beat Sarah Palin among Alaskans if the presidential election was today.

The poll found 42 percent of Alaskan voters would pick or are learning toward Obama in a head to head race against Palin for the presidency, while 36 percent of the voters would choose or are leaning toward Palin over him.

Conservative Anchorage radio host Mike Porcaro paid for Hays Research to ask the question.

“Sarah Palin showcases her Alaska roots at every opportunity, but the surprising reality is she has become highly unpopular in her home state,” Porcaro said in an emailed statement.

“Whether it is the fact she left office after serving barely two years or that some Alaskans believe her tax policies have punished our vital oil and gas industry or the ‘rock star’ nature of her media coverage, these results show Sarah Palin would lose to Obama in Alaska, where voters overwhelmingly support conservative candidates,” Porcaro said.

Porcaro hosts an afternoon show on KENI AM and owns an Anchorage advertising agency.

Hays Research of Anchorage polled 500 Alaskans who voted in at least two of the four statewide elections. The poll was on June 21st and June 22nd.

It asked:

“Although it is some time from now, thinking about the election for President of the United States next year, if the election were held today and the candidates were Democrat Barack Obama or Republican Sarah Palin, for whom would you vote or are you undecided?”

Respondents who had “strong” views favored Obama 34 percent to Palin’s 25 percent.

Well, if this is true, can someone explain to me how Uber RINO Lisa Murkowski whose name was not even on last year’s ballot won over the real conservative, Joe Miller VIA write-in, at a time when the entire country practically handed Congress and major state legislatures and governors to Tea Party supported candidates?

I wasn't there, so you'll have to ask someone from Alaska.

Tell me this....when was the last time Alaska voted for a Democrat in a Presidential election?

Whether it’s a self professed ‘conservative’ on FR or a drooling rabid MSM anchor, the BS is the same.

“She can’t win”

Not one shred of factual data to back it up, not one ounce of skin put on the line, just the pure blather that you can find wherever teenagers argue about whose favorite Emo band ‘Rules dude.”

Same mentality.

Bottom line: Until any freeper or anyone else can predict the future about what Palin “Can’t do” they need to shut up or add “It’s my belief that...”

The above statement is a trap for the PDSers. Lets see if they fall into it.

No other poll conducted anywhere has obama with that much strong support and so little moderate to weak support.

You would think any reasonable person would stop and think before starting a thread on a poll from a very questionable company. Emotions take over for the anti Conservative Palin group. See post 9

I polled everyone in a 100 foot radius of me. It was 100% for Palin.

This poll was conducted exactly the way Alaska Loves Obama” poll was.

LOL! Six of one, half a dozen of the other. One group is beholden for one reason, the other group for any number of other reasons. Very sad to see.

How did they manage to manipulate that? I don’t believe that would be a valid result in the lower 48; no way am I even close to buying for AK.

They polled the POS voters who put Murcowski in the Senate.

If Alaska is that stupid it doesn’t say much for them.

Wow, talk about subliminal! The column that should be marked “PALIN STRONG”, they “accidentally” omitted the “T”, leaving “PALINS RONG”! Biased much?

Ever hear of Al Franken? Murkowski conceded, remember? Then, all of a sudden, she was back in the race. What happened was her daddy and his pack of union/native/government dem operatives. (Remember: Sarah beat him so badly in their contest he came in THIRD!) The 2008 election was STOLEN. Period.

Hays also had McCain 46.6, Obama 43.9 11/2/08. Actual results, 11/3/08: McCain 59.4, Obama 37.9

This is really funny stuff. They expect us to believe that according to their cooked, inductive `scientific survey’ more Alaskans (or `North Texas’) prefer a failing communist fairy over a former Alaska mayor and governor who works for a living and skins out moose (mooses? meese?) in her spare time. And they had to throw in `conservative’ talk-jockey just to give it credibility.
It just goes to show, don’t you know, that gerbalists are the same, wherever you go: fatuous simpletons.

WELL SAID and the conservative masks have fallen off of some who post here. They didn’t even fight this hard against Barry! Imagine that - lots of time to go against Conservative SARAH - just like the media!

GO SARAH!!
