But he admits, “declaring a state is a given right which is not considered unilateral,” Mansour insisted.

Israel “did not ask permission to declare a state in 1948, the US did not ask the British for permission to declare a state in 1776....” he said.

So Israel was exercising a natural right in 1948 when it declared. The “Nakba” was a “catastrophe” in the eyes of the Arabs only. One hell of an admission. What he omits to mention is the fact that both Israel in 1948 and the US in 1776 were in for the fights of their respective lives after declaring. We fought and prevailed. They just want to prevail with Israel’s blessings.

good point about the “Nakba” and the fact that the Arabs denied that “natural right” they claim now, to Israel, when they invaded in 1948.

further, they omit that Palestine WAS created at the same time. but they rejected it !

...as far as i’m concerned, the offer expired 50 years ago. they had their chance and lost it.

(besides which, the modification of the Balfour Declaration in 1922 was a binding international agreement. imagine how much better the world wold be today, if that had been honored...)
