A woman was arrested for videotaping police from her front yard in Rochester, New York.

Emily Good, 28, was recording a traffic stop where police had a man handcuffed on May 12th. The video was uploaded to Blip TV today.

The cop who arrested her has been identified as Mario Masic, according to the Rochester Indy Media.

A man named Mario Masic who happens to be a police officer in western New York also runs a business called Harvest Moon Malamutes

mariomasic

You can friend him on Facebook here. Or you can email him through his business email address at harvestmoonmalamutes@live.com

The video, which has since gone viral, shows Masic hassling Good with absurd notions after he notices her recording.

“You seem very anti-police … due to what you said to me before you started taping me.”

It is not clear what Good said before she started recording, but if she said anything threatening, they would have arrested her at that moment.

She ended up getting handcuffed and taken away after she refused to walk into her house, even though she was clearly on her own property.

A friend or relative ended up taking the camera and we see her being led away.

Neighbors who witnessed the interaction confirmed she had done nothing wrong.

Meanwhile, the man they had originally handcuffed was released.

Mickey H. Osterreicher, attorney for the National Press Photographers Association, fired off a letter to Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard demanding that Good's charges be dropped.

Sheppard told Osterreicher and the Democrat and Chroniclenewspaper that he has ordered an investigation, which normally is police talk for sweeping it under the carpet until the media attention dies down.

What can we do about this folks? I'll tell you what we can do. While the "Main Stream Media" continues with wall to wall coverage about nothing we can take a few minutes and link stories such as these to your local newspapers.

It doesn't take long and it doesn't cost a dime.

It took a year before the horribly tragic story of Sunny Sheu to see the light of day.

Hat tip to The Daily Bail for getting this out there in a big way.

“You seem very anti-police … due to what you said to me before you started taping me.”

It is not clear what Good said before she started recording

I think it's pretty obvious that she didn't say anything at all. He's been trained to give that response.

"I feel threatened."
"You said something bad, and it's not on this tape."

Canned responses to justify the coming clampdown.

She wasn't arrested for videotaping.

“You seem very anti-police … due to what you said to me before you started taping me.”

Her profession is "community activist" and she was arrested in March for blocking a foreclosure.

I see another “beer summit” in the back yard of the White Crib. Who was “all wee-weed up” and “acting stupidly” this time?

Being anti-police is a crime now? We live a fascist state and it started long before Obama. The only difference is that now they know they have an administration in the WH who will back their fascist tactics all the way.

She wasn't arrested for videotaping.

I watched this on the Blaze and it seems like she was arrested for not going into her house as ordered. There was a traffic stop in front of her house and she was videotaping it. The officer didn't like that and he told her to stop and she didn't. He got huffy because she did not comply with his order. There were at least two other officers on the call. The person they pulled over was also in cuffs. The traffic stop was well under control.

I think this is crap. At every intrusion of our privacy we are told that if we are not doing anything wrong then we should not mind losing that privacy. But it only works one way.

True, she was arrested for not following a police order which clearly was not within their rights to order her to do. The police cannot order me into my house if I am not a threat to them.

She was on her property, not being a threat unless a video camera threatens their "serve and protect" thin veneer

No, she was harassed for videotaping, which the cop had no right to do. Do you defend that?

She was arrested for not going into her house, which the cop had no right to order, at least in the America the founding fathers envisioned. Do you defend that?

You are the same one who defended the SWAT team who murdered the soldier.

The Rochester Police Department didn't take too kindly to the incident nor did the neighbors.

Apparenty, the neighbors, who also witnessed this, expressed their support for Ms. Good.

In what could be reasonably construed as a retaliatory response, each car owner in the neighborhood was subsequently cited for a traffic violation.

Every car parked a fraction of an inch over the twelve inch limit form the curb received a ticket.

>>Yep. She’s a social justice agitator with a history.<<

What law did she violate here? Not going into her house?

And so what if she was an agitator? If she did it within the law, that is what the First Amendment is for.

Unless we’re going full-blown police state, where people are incarcerated for being political enemies.

With the way you and I tear into the EPA on all the water rights issues, we could be called the same.

At some point I wonder if everyone on FR will be called an activist and agitator? She may be those things, but it appears that she was within her rights and on her private property when filming. Should we be concerned now, or wait until the pendulum swings in our direction?

You go right on ahead and hook your wagon to the marxist agitator. I’m going to ignore her.

BTW. I live in an area with virtually no crime no police and zero police corruption. Just maybe, society needs to look at itself a bit more.

She wasn't arrested for videotaping.

More than one person was in the yard.
One person was videotaping.
The police spoke to the person videotaping and ignored the people who were not videotaping.
The police issued orders to the person videotaping and not to the people not videotaping.
The police wanted the videotaper to go into the house, they didn't seem to mind the other people remaining in the yard.
The videotaper was arrested. The others were not.

You can pretend that she wasn't arrested for videotaping the police, but from where I sit it seems pretty clear why she was arrested and the others were not.
