“I wouldn’t be so sure. In the US it’s immigrant populations that are keeping our birth rate higher”

- In Sweden, things appear to be different.

Okay, Sweden is a very small country compared to the US, but I still find it rather interesting that the segment of the Swedish population that is breeding the most isn’t Muslim immigrants, but well educated, well paid professional class citizens residing in places like Södermalm of Inner Stockholm.

When it comes to Stockholm demographics, Muslim low income earners originating from Africa actually display the lowest of fertility rates of all ethnic groups found in Scandinavia’s largest city.

i read your link, and while i certainly hope for the best, there were many comments there that raised questions.

again, specific numbers are lacking. the Muslim rate might drop by 50%, from 6 to 3... etc.
Antoninus said:
“No hard data in this article at all. This sentence could mean anything. Muslim birthrates declining could mean they’ve gone from 7 children per family to 6 for all we know.
Worthless. “

...also, in polygamy, the rate for each wife tends to be lower. in England, they legally pay welfare for ALL wives now.
...and across Europe the ethnic rate is well below 2, and is MUCH higher for Muslims, even 2nd generation.
(bin Laden himself, was quoted as saying getting unmarried muslim women married (so they could have more babies) was MORE important to him, than ANY terrorism activities...

they understand demographics...

Low fertility in Europe — is there still reason to worry?

.
“Nowadays, 1 in 5 babies in Europe has a mother who was born abroad. “

WC, I would love to see a Western country turn the trend around, but I'm very skeptical Sweden will be the one to do it. No country in Europe is above replacement rate and the trend seems to be continually down.

If Sweden can buck that trend, however, my hat's off to them!
