Fresh off her well-received performance in last week's GOP presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann now tops the field of candidates in a new Zogby poll of Republican primary voters.

The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support.

And yet MB continues to dodge questions and opportunities to criticize RomneyCare - can’t do that when you’re Mittens’ stalking horse.

I’m fond of both of those women, but there’s a building sense of urgency to unite early around one candidate so as to 1) nominate a solid conservative; 2) minimize the cycle duration of our people beating up on one another; and 3) maximize the duration of the cycle that will focus on the real threats to our liberties that lurk within.

I’d rather have Bachmann than Romney.

RomneyCare is a state issue. A true conservative candidate wouldn't try to impede on a state's right to make bad decisions for its citizens.

I don't think it's a big deal for Bachman to not criticize it; it had no impact on her or the people in her district she represents.

You are right on target. Romney is following the McCain strategy; first he plans to win the stupid open primary in NH, then have the MSM declare him “front runner,” then gather in all the country club money.

Exactly. Bachmann is light years better than myth or huntsman.

When Perry gets in, I think it will be over. Hopefully, it will be the end of Romney.

Palin isn’t a candidate (yet), is she?

Should they also still be polling on Donald Trump? If you read the poll, it was about announced candidates (and Huntsman, who had tipped off the media he’d announce), not pols who are still testing the waters.

I think Mitty has a lock on that already.

Really, you’re suggesting I “read” “the poll”?

Where might I find “the poll”?

I don’t see the poll, but I know that there are more than 4 candidates who are announced. And only 4 candidates are listed in the article.

And I don’t see any poll. I’d like to see the poll, actually.

Bachmann only coopted the Tea Party movement on the orders of Karl Rove who plucked her from the backbenches of the Minnesota state legislature and funded her campaign for the House in 06 and personally campaigned for her.

Since you have posted this 20 times, I am sure you have proof? email, memo, recordings, witnesses?

Sorry, but a GOVT mandate (Fed or State) is equally evil and is NOT a conservative position.

MB sold her soul to RINO Mitt - deal with it and cease your spinning for the MITT/MB RINO team!

Forced Vaccination Perry is just not well known enough to win.
Matthew Perry of Friends is more well known, more well liked, but might not be a natural born citizen.

Bachmann, Cain or Palin. I am happy with any of the three.

Me, too. If Bachmann were to maintain the lead, it's time to rally behind her. The goal is the have hardcore conservative as the nominee and she fills the role.

“BYE BYE OBAMANEYCARE ROMNEY!”

While any goverment forcing people to buy a product our of their mere existence is a deplorable example of tyranny. Romney’s state of Massachusetts could have been so empowered to so tyrannize its citizens(err subjects).

We have to accept the fact that under federalism we are going to find what some states do to their own people both deplorable and disgusting. We are going to have to accept that fact, and recognize that we have no right to interfere. If their people don’t like having their rights robed from them then their people are of right to leave.
