Mama says he's a good kid and just grieving for his friend, and he was "targeted" at the airport because "because of the way he looks - young black man with dreads and baggy pants."
Airline says they have rules against inappropriate dress and indecent exposure. After resisting arrest (probably gave the officers an "attitude") Marman is being held at the San Mateo County jail on a $11,000 bond.

Good comment by a SF reader:
Lessons for success:
- Stay in school
- Speak proper English
- Don't knock up girls
- Wear clothes that fit
- Don't join gangs
Is that really such a difficult list?

yep we know the liberal drill on this.
First of all, based on his race, we’re not supposed to say anything at all.
But beyond that, he was engaging in self expression of his culture and all that, so we’re not supposed to say anything about the sagging pants. It’s part of his culture, and all cultures are to be tolerated, etc. etc. etc.

I doubt the saggy pants was the reason. And I was right.
These ‘victims’ always use excuses to create sensational headlines until you read the whole story.

An airline employee spotted Marman before he boarded Flight 488, bound for Albuquerque, and complained that Marman's pants "were below his buttocks but above the knees, and that much of his boxer shorts were exposed," Rodriguez said. The employee asked Marman to pull up his pants before he boarded the plane, but he refused, Rodriguez said. Marman allegedly repeated his refusal after taking his seat on the plane. He was wearing his pants at half-mast out of respect for the dead.

I’ve seen young men with their drawers down below their buttocks, boxers exposed...I usually steer away from them in public so my daughter doesn’t see. I’m tempted to ask them if they are aware their backside is hanging out of their pants, and if they are aware that the purpose of pants is to cover the backside...but I’m afraid I’d be shot. (And according to the libs, all of the above makes me a bigot.)

Why was he allowed to board the plane?

She added that her son was targeted at the airport "because of the way he looks - young black man with dreads and baggy pants." Wrong, Mom. He was targeted because your son doesn't have the decency to not appear in public with his junk barely covered. Shame on you for defending him. It's now obvious why he lacks a moral compass.

As long as they have boxers underneath I don’t see any big deal or any crime. Having said that, sometimes you have to go along to get along. It’s a lot easier to pull up your pants than spend the night in the slammer. And being the most innocent dude in the holding cell is not a virtue. But I guess he sure showed them.

While they had him in the slammer they should have put him in the cell with “Old Long Tom”.After the first night he would be wearing those pants under his armpits!

I heard about this on KKOB today and can’t figure out for the life of me why he didn’t just pull his pants up! Now he’s in jail awaiting bonding out on $11,000 bond and likely will end up losing his scholarship over this. Isn’t negative publicity and being arrested a reason for schools to pull a scholarship?
I realize his friend died but geez, did he leave his sense behind when he left NM?
