I hope this works out. There are many women desperate to conceive. I’d like to see the money being wasted on AIDS being channeled towards something life-giving. AIDS can be prevented.

Weird.

This is why adoption is a blessed event.

I agree that adoption is a blessed event, but I don't see this as any weirder than in vitro or the other aids to conception.

IMO, if this results in healthy babies to partially make up for the ones that are being aborted, it's all to the good. At least, the couples willing to undergo this procedure show more probabilty of being good parents than the teen agers who are now giving up their children for adoption, and whose prenatal habits and care can't be determined.

There are many unfortunate stories of adoptions from other countries where the outcome is unhappy due to the abuse these children received.

the only problem that I have with this is that I don’t understand how it’ll withstand the rigors of pregnancy/childbirth. the uterus takes a heck of a beating. I would assume that a transplanted organ would be weaker than the original.

Good point. Although, in childbirth, the stress is on the uterus itself rather than on the connective tissue I would think.

I imagine it will be years before it is actually tried on a human.
