Why did Democrats fire on Gov. Scott for trying to stop identity theft?

Democrats in Florida have targeted Gov. Rick Scott in a desperate measure to help their Party regain absolute control of the federal government in 2012.

One item Party leftwingers and select advocacy groups are harping on relates to the Florida Legislature’s efforts on verifying the immigration status of some workers. Democrats can always count on media to back them up on such matters. The Tallahassee Democrat quoted an activist: "The lead story on Univision for over a month was the new epicenter of racism is Florida."

Fact is the issue had nothing to do with racism, and verification would protect both citizens and immigrants. Democrats ignore some facts on the matter; it is possible they are simply ignorant of the facts.

Consider information disclosed by the Center for Immigration Studies: “Eight of the 10 states with the highest percentage of illegal aliens in their total population are among the top 10 states in identity theft (Arizona, California, Florida, Texas, Nevada, New York, Georgia, and Colorado).”

Foreign nationals in the country illegally have to have a social security number to get a job. How do you suppose they obtain such a number? Remember the fiasco associated with Meg Whitman’s housekeeper? Media played the housekeeper's tears for all they were worth; not a single reporter ever asked her how much damage she did to the person whose social security number she [allegedly] stole. Nor did they ask the housekeeper how much in tax refunds or childcare tax credits she received.

We need the names of the leftist Democrats and the illegal immigration allies. It is time we found out who the enemy is.

It's very simple.

In the year 2000 census there were something like 260 million people living in the US.

Around 2006-2007 USA Today had a front page, above the fold story about how the current population had increased from the 265 million in 2000 to 305 million people in 2006.

This is an increase in 40 million people living in the US in a time span of 6 years.

The rapid rise in population was attributed in the article as being “predominantly due to immigration related population growth”

Assuming that a reasonable 25% of the population growth is from legal residents, that leaves a 30 million people increase due to immigration

Legal immigration in the US is something like 500,000 to 750,000 people per year , which would account for a population growth of 4-6 MILLION people by 2006 due to LEGAL immigration.

That leaves about 25 million people entering the country via illegal immigration (if you count the Anchor Babies of illegals as illegal related).

Add to this the often quoted, well accepted estimate of illegals in the US before the year 2000 of 12 Million illegals.

Adding the 12 million illegals here before the 2000 census to the roughly 25 million illegals (according to USA Today) who have come here since 2000 (as of 2006) and we have an illegal population of 35-37 million people.

That is more than 10% of the total population of the US are illegal aliens and roughly 1 in 10 people residing in the US have crossed our borders illegally since the year 2000.

These numbers are staggering and are totally believable giving the rise of the “please press one for Spanish and press 2 for English ‘ phenomenon in our country.
