WASHINGTON (AP) — So far, House Democratic leaders haven't publicly demanded Rep. Anthony Weiner resign after admitting he sent suggestive photos of himself in his underwear via Twitter and then lied about it to everyone within earshot.
But they've made it clear they'd appreciate it if he'd go away. And soon.
In statements within an hour of Weiner's stunning admission on Monday, not a single Democrat volunteered support for the man long mentioned as a possible future mayor of New York. And notably, none chose to comment on his defiant vow: "I am not resigning."
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the party leader, said she was "disappointed and saddened." She and other Democrats called for an ethics committee investigation to determine whether Weiner had broken any House rules. Other Democrats said they agreed.

There hasn’t been such a struggle over a weiner since Barney Frank had the young male interns in his basement.
Make Weiner the face of the DemocRAT Party from now through 2012.
Considering his age and elected position, to be doing such reckless things, shows a real disconnect with reality. Lying after being discovered, like a school child, knowing full well that would be exposed as well, calls his mental health into question.

While POTUS "BJ" Clinton was actually doing it with a barely legal age govt employee (a direct subordinate) and is now considered a God by most Dems.
Better yet, Nancy is likely dissappointed and saddened at the sight of a little prick like weiner.
Yeah, let’s promise to have an ethics investigation sometime in the distant future and then they will let it all go away.
When it comes up in 2012, it will be “old news” and we will be told to “stop dwelling in the past” because Weiner is fighting for our future.
Put some relish on it.
Back then, Slick Willie could have anyone who got cross-ways with him knee-capped (probably still can). Weiner, on the other hand, cannot.
It’s going to be fun watching the folks on the left lining up to defend the little weasel and explain how what Mark Foley did was worse.

So where IS the responsibility? Announcing publicly; that which he knew would be announced publicly?
Cannot stand the pure narcissistic arrogance of this man who personifies Twitdom at it's worst - nor as well; all the 'et al' Dems who reside their as well. Yes, what a sturglle they are having with this.
Note to Dems: there is only ONE way, that Weiner accepts responsibility for his citizen paid/salaried 'past time'.
RESIGN. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Weiner is past tense because he obviously is a perverted, foolish, incompetent, unethical, liar. In a sense he lied straight face to the country. The Democrats know they will pay a big time price because of him if they don’t kick his butt out.
The media projected him as a rising star at every opportunity. Now Wiener is a falling star. Some elected officials have the belief they are something special but in his case he is really something stupid. He failed to pay many parking tickets in DC. He’d do better managing a retail discount store back in Brooklyn.
Who would vote for him now?
Rep Chris Lee NY resigned on his own when his chest picture was published and made public which IMHO was much less a controversy than Weiner’s weiner schnitzel photo.
