Range report:

Friday, the first day of Autumn, was a beautiful day here in Texas with highs in the low 80s so I took advantage of the day to do recon on the range to see how it had fared this brutal Texas summer.

The river is about 4 foot lower, but as wide as it ever was and flowing nicely.
Mickey added more white rock to the roads and there are 6 nice benches.
Waterhill, I could use any cable spool you could provide as another bench or as a place to post targets.
I myself will bring two additional benches.
The Pistol/rifle range is in good shape and tannerite should not be a problem.
The 400 yard range is suddenly missing the new gongs.
I have no idea what happened to them, but two gongs still remain.
The trees still have leaves providing shade, but they are under stress from this drought and are already shedding leaves.

Remember to bring chairs if you want them.

A made reservations monday for the enclosed sunporch at the Cotton Gin for breakfast under the name “Texas Cowboy” with an arrival time of 9-9:30 AM on the 22nd of Oct
FYI The Cotton Gin has WiFi.

I haven’t heard anything on the BBQ from cpdiii, so as a back up we may BBQ at NYTexans after the shoot.
cpdiii, give us a check in on where we stand with that.
It is no big deal either way.

Also, if you want to play with the pseudo full auto AR 15 bring some .223 or 5.56x45 Nato ammunition.

I was having a hoot with that friday but it eats ammo pretty quickly :)

I look forward to seeing you all!
