ORLANDO, Fla. Casey Anthony told her parents in July 2008 she ached to come home from jail and see her missing child, according to a video shown to jurors on the ninth day of her murder trial for the child's death.
In the jailhouse recording shown Friday morning, Anthony told her parents her "heart is aching" because she wanted to be home with them, and with Caylee.
The state has shown a series of jailhouse visit videos over the past two days to highlight how, following her initial arrest, Casey continued to perpetuate her original story about a nanny kidnapping her child. That account changed suddenly at the start of her murder trial when her lawyer for the first time contended the child accidently drowned in the family's pool.
Anthony, 25, is charged with killing Caylee in the summer of 2008. She has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors say the child suffocated after duct tape was placed over her mouth. Caylee's skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area near her grandparents' home in December 2008.
During an Aug. 14, 2008, visit with her parents, Casey told her mother. "Just tell her that we forgive her," when asked what message Casey wanted to covey to the nanny she claimed had taken Caylee.
"All I want is my daughter back," she told her parents during the video. "All we want is our Caylee."
On Thursday, jurors saw recordings of jailhouse visits by Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, and her brother, Lee Anthony. Friday they saw three more recordings of visits she had with her parents.
In a tape from July 30, 2008, the Anthonys arrived at the jail wearing special t-shirts featuring Caylee's picture.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Casey Anthony is a complete psychopath, and the most extraordinary liar I have ever seen.
Definately something wrong with her? Anyone who could stand by lies as long as she did has to have a problem of some sort. Remember early on when she took the police to her job to retrace her steps and the police were told mid search by the employer that he hadn’t worked there in more than 6 months (or year I don’t remember exactly right now). Normal people would understand that the police would find out but for some reason she beleved her own lies?
She isn't even a good liar. Everybody, police included, saw right thru her lies from day one. On a scale of 1 to 10 of liars, I say she is maybe a 2........................................
Yes, she avoids that because she knew that it wasn’t true............
Yes, she simply does not give up on her lies until the very last second of possibility is destroyed. When she took them to Universal, she walked them through the entrance, over a block, down some sidewalk, and into some building where she claimed she worked. It wasn’t until they had taken the last steps into some office, before she finally said “okay, I don’t work here.” Any normal person would have given up the charade somewhere short of that. It was absolutely pointless to go that far, but it seems she just can’t.
She is a sociopath. A Classic sociopath. They 'believe' their own lies only as long as it benefits them at any given moment. If the 'lie' is then proven to be undeniably false, then it's replaced with another lie. To a sociopath, there is no 'truth' unless it is beneficial in some way to them. A lie is merely another tool in their kit..................
And the police knew in advance that she did not work there......................
Have you read, “The Sociopath Next Door”? It’s excellent (and terrifying), you might like it and really anyone who is into true crime would probably like it.
I grew up with a sociopath, my brother, now deceased.
I could write a book, “The Sociopath in the Next Bed”........................
I pray that some crack-whore shanks this woman in jail.
she does seem a classic case of a sociopath..
I’m catching some of the trial b4 I leave..
Thanks for updates
I was married to one for 10 years and had no idea. One day when I was at work, she injured one of our children to the point where our daughter died. She created an elaborate cover story that she stuck to for 18 months, even after she was arrested and charged with murder, until the preponderance of evidence against her caused her attorney to recommend she take a plea bargain.
Once she took the plea, she went back to the cover story and told lie after lie to re-convince everyone that the plea was coerced, or she was trying to avoid embarrassing the family with a trial, etc. One story after another. Turns out her whole life was a lie, and more and more stories were exposed to me the more digging I did once we were divorced.
10 years of being married to and living with a stone-cold socioapathic liar, I never once suspected a thing.
This was 3 years ago - to this day, anyone she talks to, she still maintains the cover story.
Meanwhile, me and our remaining children have to go on and deal with the crushing grief of not hearing Faith’s little voice anymore...while my ex lives in a fantasy land in her own head where she’s been forgiven and all is well.
It’s disturbingly sick - and I see so many parrallels in this crime. Ms. Anthony and my ex are practically carbon copies.
“Ive come to the conclusion that Casey Anthony is a complete psychopath, and the most extraordinary liar I have ever seen.”
Ditto. If she ever does come home I hope the parents are smart enough to lock their bedroom door at night.
Have you two noticed how all of her made up cohorts are “well off” or have a trust fund, don’t really have to work? She is obsessed with wealth. She lied to friends claiming to have at least an associates degree or said she was returning to college. She also claimed to money in the bank to buy a house - claimed a huge sum of money being paid to the Nanny. Even the term “nanny” instead of babysitter - was made to sound like she was a successful working woman who hired a nanny to be available 24 hours a day.
Your post really grabbed me. I googled the details of your family’s tragedy. Heartbreaking.
I’m keeping you and your kids in my prayers. If He hasn’t already, may the merciful Lord reveal to you the good He has in mind for all of you through your pain (Romans 8:28).
