The Alaskan continues her unmatched mastery of the pressgetting them to slavishly follow her Tour to Nowhere. Matt Latimer on the roots of her strategy, and why it strikes a deep Republican chord.
It has been three years since the first exclamatory sentences were deployed and grammatically challenged Twitter invectives unleashed in the epic conflagration between Sarah Palin and the "lamestream" media. You'll never guess who's winning the war.
Judge for yourselves: On one side, the news business continues its dreary decline. Papers have folded. Reporters face mass layoffs. Even Palin's 2008 nemesis, Katie Couric, has abandoned her once coveted anchor desk to again show viewers how to jazz up their sex life, wear figure-flattering swimsuits, and make the world's yummiest blueberry pie. Meanwhile the Alaska governor has become rich, relevant, ravenously read, widely watched and, at least in terms of consideration as a presidential candidate, dangerously close to respectable. In the tawdry codependency that exists between Palin and the pressneither can quit the otherexactly who is supposed to be the dimwit again?
All Palin need do is get on a tour bus and head east and Washington's most elite scribes fall over themselves to find out where she's headed, what she'll say, what shell do. All of it was meaningless, of course, and the press corps knew its collective chain was being yanked even as they jawboned everyone from Sarah Palin's housekeeper to her first cousin's neighbor's best friend for any morsel of "news" about her plans. As one of Mrs. Palin's frenzied chroniclers put it in a moment of clarity, She's probably retiring to her bus each day, turning on the TV and laughing at everyone trying to figure out what the hell she's up to, then watching hits on her website go through the roof.

Right now Sarah is playing puppeteer with the LSM and making them dance at her every whim.
She is a whole lot smarter than they are and makes them look more and more stupid every single day.
LOVE IT!!!
The one thing that has always struck me is that articles like this almost invariably seem to come from OUTSIDE our borders.
Our “media” in this country is so in the tank for the libs that they are totally blind to the fact of what a bunch of dimwits they truly are.
Even Bristol can play the press like a fiddle.
Doesn’t say much for their collective intellect does it, when a 20 year old young woman can make them all look like village idiots.
The fact that this was written by someone associated with the New York Slimes, is extraordinary.
((((ping))))
I believe Sarah will run.
In 2008 she saw a bunch of incompetent turds in the McCain campaign, the piss-poor strategies they enacted, and the very flawed candidate himself, and decided she could do better.
As indeed she will.
If Palin runs, there will be mass hysteria. Dogs will be having kittens and cats will be having puppies. Crowds will swarming every Palin campaign appearance while media and pundits scratch their heads. Haven’t seen this much buzz around a Republican since Reagan. I honestly think she has a chance to win every single primary and caucus if she gets in.
What will drive the left off the cliff is if Palin hires Karl Rove to run her campaign.
Hate him all you want, call him anything you want, Rove has one thing that not too many campaign managers have, a winning record.
All Palin has to do is tell him what she wants and how she wants to campaign, and Rove will make it happen. She doesn’t need him in her cabinet, she doesn’t need him to form policy.
Just win baby!
Of course, this will be a campaign like we have never seen before - provided she throws her hat in the ring.
I head what you’re saying, regarding Rove, but it’s more than a matter of who’s in charge, it’s a matter of trust. Can Rove be trusted to put his professionalism ahead of his loyalty to the people running the part of the party that doesn’t like “upstarts” like Palin?
Rove gets millions to do what he does best. Backstabbing a client is just about the worst thing you can do as a campaign manager.
Wow, that was fun reading all the comments on the site and yours. Thanks, I needed that!
